elevated DvHGZ NICASTRI, nee Aquila, Giuditta (Gigetta) .  It is with great sadness that the family of Giuditta Nicastri announces her passing on November 19, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Loving wife of 61 years to the late Fernando, loving, devoted and cherished Mom to Basilio (Doriana) and Daniela (Giancarlo D’Ulisse).  Adored Nonna to Fernando (Diana), Alessandro, Rita, David, Claudia and Christian and great Grandmother to Mila and Sofia.  Beloved Sister to Uliana (Savino), Bianca (Antonio) and the late Antonio.  Sister-in-law to Augusta (Angelino), the late Concetta , the late Emma and the late Silvano.  She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families.  Gigetta was born on June 10, 1934 to Ettore Aquila and Saveria Virno in Scigliano, Italy.  Gigetta trained as a seamstress at age 14.  She met Fernando in 1953.  They married in 1956 and after the arrival of their first born son, immigrated to Toronto in 1959.  Gigetta adapted quickly in Canada working hard as a seamstress to help support her young family.  After giving birth to her daughter a few short years later, she continued with her work as a seamstress working out of the home while raising her two children.  She was loyal, dedicated and kind to her family and friends.  She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends in Canada and Italy.  Special thanks to the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital for their expertise, care and compassion.
