elevated tJYTB September 13, 1949 ~ April 14, 2020
elevated tJYTB Osbert “Obby” D’Sylva passed away peacefully on April 14th at home surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband of 41 years to Assumpta and a patient father to his daughters Sharon and Lourdy. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, brother, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends here in Canada and India.
Words are not sufficient enough to describe his kind hearted nature, his infectious laughter and his unwavering willingness to help others. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He enjoyed going to work everyday and interacting with his colleagues who he considered his dear friends.
He had many joys in life including music, building things with his hands, cooking his favourite dishes, and he always had a joke for every occasion. He will be truly missed by all.
We will miss a good cousin and friend dearly.
Happy memories of togetherness of family will be cherished in the hearts forever.
We shall keep in prayer that the Lord will grant eternal salvation in His Kingdom.’
RIP Obby!

Dear Osbert,
This transition will never take away our memories of you. You were an exceptional friend and human being full of love, kindness, and a great sense of humour who lived a life to its fullest. We shared a great friendship for over almost 2 decades and the respect we had for each other was ever so mutual and gracious.
My wife and all three of my daughters who share fond memories of the time spent with you, also deeply feel this sudden turn of time.
I am confident your beautiful family will continue to celebrate the moments shared with you and forever feel your guiding presence each day going forward. My entire family stands with yours at this time.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Obbie. He will be missed. Yes, he loved to build things. He built me my first guitar when I was in college. He also built a Styrofoam Kuwait Airways aeroplane for Karen and my wedding. It came down the hall and dropped confetti on us when we cut the cake. He will be remembered for his ready smile. Sending strength and prayers for the family to deal with this difficult time. 🙏
Our deepest sympathies to the D’Sylva family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace Obby
