elevated FkLSO Francisco Alves
elevated FkLSO April 17, 1925 – August 7, 2020
elevated FkLSO Francisco (Chico) passed away very peacefully surrounded by the people he loved the most in his own bed in his own home. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years Maria Hortencia, daughter Maria Isabel, son-in-law Gino, and grandson Christian. He will be affectionately remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and in laws. Predeceased by parents Felisberto Alves and Barbara de Jesus as well as all his siblings Antonio, Maria Rosa, Judite, Maria Alexandrina, Maria de Conceição, Manuel and Maria de Céu. Born in Boidobra (Covilhã) Portugal, he lived his life with a fierce independence. Immigrating to Canada with wife and daughter in 1966 he worked tirelessly to build a better life. Deeply connected to nature he tended his beloved garden and fig tree. A sharp dresser who never failed to leave the house without a suit jacket, tie and fedora for his almost daily outings to add to his huge stockpile of supplies – just in case. Those who knew him best recognized his generosity and love of life and that is how he will be remembered.
We are very saddened with the loss of
our one of a kind Tio Chico, you will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Tio Chico was quiet a character
and I am sure that by now he has been welcomed by his family to his new garden up in heaven…
In life, you loved your garden passionately
and in heaven the best place to find
God is in his garden and I am sure that
You have not stopped digging until
you found your favourite place in heaven surrounded by your vegetables, flowers, peace and serenity.
To my beautiful family tia, Bela, Gino and Christian, we
Wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart!
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all
And we are sending you comforting hugs and love
Guida, Lucia, Tania, Peter, kevin and Julian
