Dear family
Your mother always had a warm hello and beautiful smile for all here at Dockside on the shores of Georgian bay. She was a wonderful matriarch of the community and loved and admired by all who were blessed to share time in her welcoming presence. Always elegant, poised and yes admirably fiesty with her rich Italian passion for expressiveness, that added joy and vibrance. Her chair by the water sits empty of her visual presence now, but her life force will linger here with loving rememberance for years to come. Please know that your neighbours at Dockside are sending our sincere condolences for this great loss. She could not have had a more caring family and it was always obvious to see how much she loved you all. Mary and Lucia,Two more devoted daughters Giovanna could not have prayed for. With much Love and fond rememberance. Brian and Lynn Wood, Dockside, Collingwood
Nonna I will miss you more then ever. I will never forget all our happy memories, your smile, your laugh, your cry of happiness and the way you loved all of us and our children. It will take a lot of getting use to not having your beautiful energy in the room. But now you are with no Nonno finally and at peace with the angels. I love you.
Our deepest condolences to all of Giovannina’s (as we knew her) family.
Our memories extend as far back as we can remember having been raised in a house just 2 doors down from her home on Grace Street.
As we grew up many days were spent In her and Antonino’s home and garden and many wonderful summers going to Wasaga beach and often renting cottages with our family and hers.
This wonderful friendship continued between the families all through the years.
Her long life has touched many and the memories she granted us are everlasting.
We will miss her, her style and her grace with love always. She and Antonino are now reunited with and enjoying the company of our parents Elisa and Franco!

Mary, Lucy:
As a boy, I grew up just two doors down from your mother’s house on Grace Street. Often, in the mid to late 60s, I would be hanging out in her back yard in the hot summers, with her nephew Rocco. We would often be running around, climbing the peach tree in the yard, or playing cards with your father, Tonino, on that concrete table he made, which was permanently anchored to the ground by a solid steel post. By mid afternoon, your mother would come around with cold glasses of kool-aid and often fill my hands with jam sandwiches or these wonderful crunchy round biscuits she made that had a hole in the middle and were sprinkled with sugar on top. She always had a smile on her face and never got angry no matter how much chaos we created in that small yard-she was almost like an aunt to me. Although I haven’t seen her in a long while, having moved away from Toronto, one of the last times I saw her I asked her about those biscuits and of course she pulled some out of a tin for me to enjoy with a glass of wine. Luckily for me she was generous enough to share the recipe with me which I still have, reminding me of her every time I make a batch. Those were such wonderful times.
Giovanina, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Rita Conti e famiglia.
A special though in loving memory of Aunt Giovanna. She’ll live in our heart forever.

Dear Mary and Lucy, this is truly a time of extreme sadness, even though I new Zia Giovanna from back home I really started to know Zia when arriving here in Canada, with your Dad they took us in to their house at Grace street in 1957.
I can say with gratitude and admiration that although the economy was challenging she always made everything work out with ease and fun, my Mom learned a lot from Zia especially how to make extra good pasta sauce with a great meal,I can still taste the cosine and the aroma of her cooking, our two families where truly in perfect harmony and that love that was shared as we grew up together still exists to this day, Zia was always very kind to us all, she often asked me to run to the corner store to get something the last minute and I could not be happier, she always took time and enjoyed talking to me, she was a great person, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, confidant and friend, she will be greatly missed by all that new her, she will be remembered as vibrant, caring, kind and loving person, we ask the Lord to bless her soul with total acceptance in the heavens joining with Zio Antonino, please accept our sincere condolences from all our families, we pray together for her, love Joseph & Maruzzella.
We send our deepest condolences to all the family. Her smile , grace and beauty are definitely reflected in all of you.We will always remember her as such a beautiful and loving woman.
