On behalf of the Guidi family, I would like to express my sincerest condolences to Barbara, Miriam, Sarah, Larry,Jordan, and Joshua.
Carla was the eldest daughter of Annita and Olinto Guidi. Her siblings are, Mirella,, (the late Franca), Nadia and her brother Mario.
Carla was born in Gallicano, Garfagnana ,Province of Lucca.
Her memories of her childhood were of perilous times of war. The infamous Gothic Line ran through the region. In her teen-age years while swimming in the Serchio River. She saved several of her friends from drowning, for that she received medals from the mayor of the town for bravery. Later on she would be a survivor of a factory explosion which killed dozens. As she blossomed into a stunningly beautiful young lady, she was seen by Marcello. They fell in love. Got married, came to Canada and sponsored the rest of the Guidi family.
I along with my remaining sisters Mirella and Nadia will miss our courageous and lovely sister.
Rest in Peace,
Your loving brother,
Mario
