elevated 8Vngv April 22, 1955 – December 23, 2020
elevated 8Vngv It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we advise that Victor passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 at the age of 65. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Jean of 35 years, and doted Son Brendon D’Souza. Devoted brother of Rosemary Davids, Flora D’Souza, Louisa (Errol) D’Costa, Joey (Patricia) D’Souza and brother-in-law to Jennifer (Milton) Noronha and Janet (William) Valladares. Victor is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews – Darren and Denise Davids (David Mack), Diane and Vanessa D’Costa, Alanna and Garrett D’Souza, Ginella (Jason) Deonarine, and Warren Valladares.
elevated 8Vngv In adherence to COVID-19 protocols, a private family funeral service will be held for Victor on Thursday December 31, 2020, starting with a viewing at 10:30 am, followed by Mass at 11:30 am at The Blessed Trinity Church.
elevated 8Vngv To view the livestream service, please go to blessedtrinityto.archtoronto.org This will take you to our webpage. When you get there click on the “live streaming” button at the top of the page. The video will go live about 10 min before the funeral. When the video launches, hover your mouse over the lower left hand part of the screen… there they will see a small speaker with an X beside it. Click on the speaker to enable the sound (the X will disappear). The volume of the sound is controlled from the computer/device they are on. They may need to increase the volume on their computer / device to hear things properly. *A computer is the best way to watch the broadcast. Cell phones and ipads do work – marginally, but (especially) older models can sometimes have limited or outdated technology that doesn’t always handle the sizable data that comes in with both audio and video broadcasting. A very old computer can also have these issues…

I did not expect this, I thought my next comments to Victor would be when he retired (not that he was ever going to retire, he loved his job and work mates). Victor and I worked together for 38 years, he was there when I started and there when I retired. During that time we developed a friendship which endured. We spent most lunch times together, in the bad old days in a bar and later in coffee shops. We shared witness to some major events, the space shuttle challenger, 9/11, the 2003 blackout. We had after work beer parties in the office and hid out in the computer room because no one else knew the combination to get in there. We occasionally lent each other a few dollars at month end until you joined marketing dept and wanted to charge interest. You made me laugh, your enduring optimism was inspiring and your smile uplifting. I said you would give someone the shirt off your back and you did, well a sweater, when the weather turned cold one day. I meant to return it someday. Goodbye my friend, I will always remember you. May you rest in Peace now. My sincere condolences to Victor’s family and work mates.
Our deepest condolences on Victors passing. Diane , Nicholas, Kendra and I are deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family. May God grant you serenity and pease during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Jean, Brendan, Rose, Flora, Louisa and Joey. May god give you’ll strength and comfort in the days ahead.

Victor is the only person I’ve ever met who was NEVER in a bad mood, never frowning, never complaining, no matter what challenges life threw at him. Working with Victor for 10 years, I learned from him the value of attitude and positivity. I will miss lunchtime coffee with Raymond, Victor and Stephen, sitting in the sun outside of Second Cup on Queen street in the summer, watching the world go by while we traded stories and jokes. Rest in peace, Victor, you will be missed.

Our heartfelt and sincerest condolences to Jean and Brendon, Louisa, Rose, Joey and Flora on the loss of an amazing husband, father, brother and friend.
Victor will always have a special place in my heart, he played the role of Big Brother to me when I came to Toronto to work in the summer. I was an 18yr old scared kid, and he took me under his wing, introduced me to so many people and made me feel at home. For this I will be eternally grateful. May his soul rest in peace and his memory be a blessing.
Love, Errol, Rachel, Sean and Ryan
My sincere condolences to Victor’s family. I worked with Victor from afar and most of our communications were email. However, it was always a pleasure to hear his voice when he called. You could hear that smile through the phone and he had the talent of calling to help reverse a stressful day. I will miss that voice. May he rest in peace.
To the Dsouza family and CAFO family. Albeit I didn’t know his family or friends… it has been decades that I had the pleasure of dealing with him in the insurance sector. He was absolutely always such a GEM of a man. So professional, kind, patience, calm and always willing to drop what he was doing to help out in a pinch. he used to come around our office and give us fun promotional items, always making us feel like we were his only broker. It’s incredibly sad to see his life cut short. I hope the family finds peace and comfort in all these wonderful messages as it’s very clear everyone has/had the same sentiments. The world was one person nicer because of Victor. god bless and we will say a special prayer for him and his family. Cathy Ciccolini – Masters Insurance Limited
Dear Jean, Brendon & D’Souza Family: Although I never had the pleasure of meeting you, I had the pleasure of working with Victor for just shy of three years, at CAFO. From the moment I started, I quickly recognized what a superstar Victor was. I received everyday accolades from the insurance brokers I dealt with, commending Victor on his exemplary dedication, efficient, and reliable service. I have never met anyone who was more proficient at his job than Victor. I was very proud to have Victor accompany me on a few lunch engagements which I coordinated with my brokers. Most of the brokers I was responsible for managing, in Toronto expressed a keen interest in meeting the person behind the telephone ☎️/computer 👨🏽💻. Victor was a true gem. I always commended Victor and the inside team as being the true “worker ants” behind the scenes but well-deserving of the recognition they represented to CAFO. Victor came into my office for regular heart-to-heart conversations, often seeking my advice. I am honoured that he felt a sense of comfort and trust in me. A former coworker once told me, “It’s rare in life to make friends with someone you work with. If you do, it’s extra special”. Very true. Victor, I respected you both as a colleague and a friend. Your genuinely sincere, wholehearted, honest personality radiated throughout our office. I’m sure that light 💡 has drastically faded with your absence. You will be missed by everyone who had the great fortune to cross paths with you. Sincerely, Carol Bedley (CAFO Feb 14, 2011 – Nov. 18, 2013).
