elevated 5SeWf It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Spencer Michael Pecar in his 27th year. Beloved son to Michael and Laura, loving brother to Alexandra and dear grandson to Nonna Santina. Spencer will also be deeply missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends.
elevated 5SeWf Spencer graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce & Finance from the University of Guelph. Throughout his young life, Spencer excelled in his athletic endeavors, most notably while playing baseball for the Oakville A’s. Spencer’s hobbies included hockey, basketball, and playing guitar, as well as spending time with friends. Spence was passionate about cooking. From his gourmet BLTs to sous-vide steaks, he always thoroughly enjoyed his home cooked meals. He loved to travel, some of his favourite memories were ziplining in Costa Rica, scuba diving in Mexico, chasing sharks and turtles in the Tobago Cays and sailing in the Caribbean, Sardinia & Corsica.
elevated 5SeWf Spencer was brilliant and will be remembered for his great sense of humor as well as his contagious smile and laugh.
elevated 5SeWf Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family Funeral Service at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home on Monday January 11, at 1:30 pm. An entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
elevated 5SeWf If you wish to pay your respects, please feel free to do so at a later date at the following location: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery – The Holy Trinity Mausoleum on the south side of the 3rd floor. To access the building, the door code is: 1954.
Mike, Laura and Alex, we are deeply saddened to hear of Spencer’s passing and have spent the last few days reminiscing about what a beautiful, smart and funny guy he was. Lots of great memories. My fondest memories of elementary and high school include Spence – cops&robbers at recess, driving around aimlessly, prom, only to name a few. To one of the most loyal, funny, intelligent friends who provided me with so many memories, Rest in Peace. You will be so missed, Spence. To the Pecar family – my deepest condolences. My heart aches for you, Mike, Laura and sweet Alex, on the loss of Spencer. I have such beautiful memories of that adorable little cutie and his amazing smile. I remember how cool he thought it was when we got in trouble discovering the ruins in Tulum and how he giggled every time we talked about it. He was such a great kid!

We were given the gift of knowing Spencer since his childhood both on the diamond and at the rink. As a teammate, as a friend and as a young man. We are saddened by his passing but celebrate that he was a part of our lives. Rest In Peace Spencer.

Sending my deepest sympathies. I remember Spencer as respectful and very talented. He was a significant member of our A’s baseball teams. As coaches, we were proud that we had a close knit club. I will always remember the game Spence pitched on a warm June night versus Niagara Falls (at Oakville Park). He was exceptional.

I’ll never forget the beautiful contagious smile that Spence had. He was without a doubt one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. We shared countless memories together at Guelph University and I will cherish those times for the rest of my life. I’ll never forget the amazing BBQ’s we had at his house in Oakville or at the condo Downtown. He always welcomed me with open arms and at times we would jokingly argue about who was a better cook Spence, me or Jax. Spence will forever be apart of our “Guelph Fom”. I lived with Spencer throughout the years at the university of Guelph. He could always change a bad day into a good day with his energy. Moving into the Guelph downtown apartment was one of the best memories. There are so many memories to chose from and he was loved by so many.
