elevated 48TgN Vincenzo Matrundola passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021 (the Feast of St. Vincent) at Mackenzie Health Long-Term Care Centre at the age of 95. He is reunited with his beloved late wife Carmina (2000) and son Paolo (1963). Born November 23, 1925 in St. Lucia, Cervaro, Italy, he moved to Canada in 1955 in search of a better life for his family, followed by his wife, Carmina, and daughter Erminia in 1956. He dedicated his life to his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone and anyone. Dearly loved and cherished father of Erminia (Robert Bilan), Sandra (Günter Schirmer), and Paola (Guido D’Aliesio). Loving nonno to Valentina, Matteo (Blandine), Robert (Sophie), Katharina (Frédéric), Sara (Richard), Christoph, and Domenico. Beloved bisnonno to Delphine, Mathilde, Theodore, Nathalie, and Aymeric. Greatly missed by his little dog Dakota. Vincenzo is reunited in heaven with his parents, Antonio and Alessandra (DeRosa) Matrundola, brother Vittorio, sisters Bettina and Erminia. He will be dearly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mackenzie Heath LTC, especially the staff on 3 West for the exceptional care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mackenzie Health LTC. Details regarding a celebration of life will follow at a later date. The family wishes to extend thanks for all the love and support during this difficult time. Due to our COVID 19 pandemic, a private viewing will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home on Wednesday January 27, 2021. A live streaming of Vincenzo’s Funeral Service may be viewed on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 12 p.m. by clicking HERE. A private Entombment will take place directly after. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks for all the love and support during this difficult time.
