elevated 7s1he It is with the deepest sorrow and great love that we mourn the passing of Biagio Viti, at the age of 88 on Saturday, February 6, 2021. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Giulia (nee Leva). Devoted father of (the late) Maria, Franco (Frank) and his wife Jennifer (Steele), Mario and his wife Maria (Mary) (Guglietti), and Pietro (Peter). Cherished Grandfather/Nonno of Maria Lisa and her husband Giovanni (Cerasa), Frank Junior, Stephen, Elysa, Anthony, Sophia, and Matthew. Proud great grandfather of Vincenzo, Lorenzo and Rosa. Loving Step-Grandfather to Christopher (Mitchinson), James (Mitchinson) and Alexandra (Wood). Biagio will be dearly missed by his many relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and the United States. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated and loyal friend to many. He was known for his integrity, honesty, sense of humour, and altruism throughout his life. A loving, caring, and generous man he touched many people’s hearts.
elevated 7s1he Biagio was born on June 17th, 1932 in Boville Ernica, a town in the province of Frosinone, Italy. He came to Canada to start a new life when he was 20 years old, leaving behind a country torn apart by war. Although very proud of his Italian heritage, Biagio fell and remained deeply in love with his adopted home and was a proud Canadian all his life. Biagio and his wife Giulia eventually settled in North York (Toronto), purchased a home, and established a family. Biagio was dedicated to his family, living his life to the fullest, always keeping a watchful eye on the family he adored. He was a humble and kind man, with strong values. An accomplished and enthusiastic plantsman and gardener, Biagio loved sharing the fruits of his trees and the vegetables from his garden with his family and friends. He was a true outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and outdoor activities, and passed this love on to his sons and his grandchildren.
elevated 7s1he Biagio actively supported his church and various community organizations. He had an unwavering belief in God and was devoted to his Catholic faith as a parishioner at St Philip Neri Catholic Church (Toronto). We are comforted to know that Biagio will rejoice at being reunited with his beautiful daughter Maria, who passed away at age 6, as well as many other loved ones. In lieu of flowers, a gift in memory of Biagio can be made to St. Phillip Neri Parish Church (Toronto) at www.stphilipneri.ca/st-philip-neri-parish/donate or Parkinson Canada (formerly Parkinson Society of Canada) at www.parkinson.ca/getinvolved/waystogive

Cara famiglia Viti,
Vittorio e Iolanda Crescenzi
While we know Biagio is in a better place, pain free and happy, it’s still hard on our hearts as we will miss him. We will miss his wisdom and kindness. He always seemed happiest when he was teaching. Whether it was about gardening and his apples, or tales of the best way to catch trout. He always wanted to share with you his learnings. Always generous with a word or gentle touch. We will miss him and love him through our memories. Peace to the entire family.
Dear Zio Biaggio,
You were a joyful uncle to have around. While we didn’t see each other that often due to the distance, yet with the quality times that we did, are only filled with warm feelings and happy memories.
Your departure shows how precious life is. May you enjoy God and the Archangels. I imagine that your reunion are beautiful with your daughter and the love ones you haven’t seen in awhile in heaven.
And once you get more settled and get your wings, to please leave good words to Jesus and Mother Mary for all your earthly love ones.
My condolences to Zia Guilia and to the whole immediate family.
Our deepest condolences to the Viti family for your loss. During these moments, one can’t help but to reflect back on years past when I spent so much time with the Viti’s and the fond memories that it brings. John and I did get a chance to experience some Viti Family time and we will always have fond memories. Mr Viti , may the angels be at your side always. Love John and Suzanne.
A GOOD MAN
When you hear those words my Uncle Biaggio Viti should always come to mind. A selfless person who always put his needs aside for his family and friends.
My Uncle could have returned to Italy after working overseas and made a good life for himself and my Zia Guilia. He sacrificed the comforts that he and his wife could have had in the countryside of Boville for the opportunities that his children could have in North America.
LOVE – HONOR – SELFLESS = BIAGGIO VITI
I will miss your life lessons and those encouraging words “Keep up the good work in America”.
I was so lucky that you treated me like one of your boys! Thank you for setting the bar so high for the rest of us to try and follow.
Just know you are loved!
Until we meet again

Frank, Peter and Mario are three of the most decent men I’ve ever known and are my dear friends. They say a son is a reflection of the father. I know the pain of a son losing a father. But, I remember that he is now in the arms of Our Loving Father in heaven with all of the loved ones who left this world before him. May God bless the ones he has left behind him and bring them peace.
