elevated eaqRm It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Maria Piro. Loving wife of the late Antonio Piro. Adored and cherished mother of Rosemarie and Carmine.
elevated eaqRm Maria is predeceased by her dear brothers the late Salvatore (Jean), the late Vittorio (Pauline), the late Vincenzo (the late Marie) and the late Decimo (Kerry). She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her brothers John (the late Maria), Antonio (Jackie), Mario (Gloria) and Aldo (Debbie), by her sisters-in-law, her many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
elevated eaqRm Maria immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her father Alessandro and brother John. Together they worked tirelessly to establish a home and bring the rest of the family to Canada. In July 1954 she married Antonio and devoted her life selflessly to her family which was her greatest joy. Maria’s warm hospitality and the exquisite meals she lovingly prepared for family and friends were legendary. She was an avid gardener and found joy creating beautiful gardens around her home. Her wisdom, kindness, and compassion will be missed by all who knew her. May she now rest peacefully in the arms of an angel.

My dearest Mary
If words could ease the ache of saying so long to you I’d never stop typing, Over these last few years you became far more to me then my sister in law Mary you became my friend.
You opened your home your family to embrace Aldo and I far to many times to count. Welcoming us to join you and your family at your table set not just with delicious home made dishes but love.
We shared conversations laughter stories of the once upon a time and used to be of long ago always carrying us to anther time and place, Every time we said good night we tucked them inside our hearts to recall another time.
I loved walking around the gorgeous garden you began from three plants as a young beautiful wife mom decades ago now sweeping your whole yard in breath taking blooms to make you smile every time you see it. Each bloom planted transplanted with tender hands full of pride.
The love of your son daughter obvious in the way your face lit up in a smile each and every time you said their names. Your love of family obvious in the stories you shared,
Now my beautiful sister in law friend all we have are words, words to say Aldo and I will miss you so so much. We’ll miss your laugh your awesome meals your goodie boxes packed with LOVE mostly we’ll Miss the twinkle in your eye when you talked of your handsome Tony your babies of long ago and your family.

Dear Maria Nicoletti and the Segreto Family,
Your kind expression of sympathy and your prayers are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Rosemarie and Carmine
Our deepest and most sincere condolences. So many wonderful, beautiful memories of a life filled with the love she always showed to others. From the time I was given my first bicycle by Auntie Marie and Uncle Tony to the many visits thru the years, be it to pick pears and cherries as a child or to visit and watch TV and always eat. Nobody ever left hungry. I cherished the wonderful conversations we had over the last number of months . I only wish we could have fulfilled our promise to cook together when all this covid is over. Your bolognese sauce suggestions will be cherished. I love you, and we will miss you. I know how much you loved “Sam’s kids” and always made us feel more than welcome and part of your family. Caitlin and I send our thoughts to Rose and Carmine at this difficult time . Xoxoxo
Dear Dan and Caitlin,
Thank you for this heartfelt tribute to our mother and for sharing these wonderful memories with us. Mom loved “Sam’s kids” so much.
She also enjoyed telephone conversations with Dan because it gave her comfort and reassurance to know that you were well. Thank you for your kind words and sympathy. With love and appreciation, Rosemarie and Carmine
