elevated jFUR3 Obituary
elevated jFUR3 Sheila Quigg (nee Fielding)
elevated jFUR3 Sheila Mary Margaret Magdeline Maria Theresa Fielding, better known as Mom, Grandma, Toots, Auntie Sheila and Auntie Toots was born in St. Andrew’s Jamaica on March 23,1935 and came to Canada in 1953 to become a St. Michael’s Nurse (Class of ‘57). She was proud of her “St. Mike’s” service and developed many lifelong friends with her beloved classmates. She left the departure lounge on August 26, 2021 for a one way flight to the heavens.
elevated jFUR3 Mom was predeceased by her husband Thomas (2019). She leaves behind her children Belinda, Mark (Alaine Debono) and Elizabeth (Ellis) Holmes and her grandchildren Abigail, Michael, Emily and Rosemary, her brother-in-law Frank (Ann) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the youngest in her family and was predeceased by her 8 siblings. Dorothy, Helen, Charles, Richard, Clement, Edward, Joseph and John.
elevated jFUR3 She was a force of nature and the heavens are rocking now that the youngest has finally arrived! I’m sure there’s a bottle of rum and one heck of a card game on the go. Mom loved her lottery tickets and the horses, but most of all she loved her Faith. She lived her Faith every day and instilled in all of us the core values we strive to achieve. She took her Faith wherever she went and attempted to open the eyes of the blind! She loved her Rosary and her Chaplet. She would say “With those” and “The Boss” “ALL things are possible”. She was beautiful, kind, generous and empathetic.
elevated jFUR3 The Kaluki games will be missed as well as the Saturday night get-togethers. She left on her own terms on the phone with her best friend and sister-in-law, Olga Fielding. She was loved deeply and there’s a huge hole in our hearts that will not be filled any time soon. In mom’s memory, please feel free to raise a glass or play a little Harry Belefonte or Bill Haley and the Comets.
elevated jFUR3 A private funeral mass and burial will take place. Please make donations to the Sisters of Life; Companions of the Cross; Chalice; St. Francis Table or a charity of your choice.

Dearest Liz and family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you. Love Anna and Rick
Liz, Bindy, Mark, and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Sheila was a very special lady to us. We got to enjoy her company the last 25 years.
We won’t forget her rice and peas, homemade cherry pie, those special cookies and her big box of Tim Hortons donuts.
We will miss those serious but fun games of cards.
Rest In Peace my dear.
Jim and Ann Holmes
We are sorry for your loss, Mark and your family’s loss.
Our condolences are with you.
Your mom was born in the same year as my mother.
Losing a mom is very hard.
I think about her everyday. You already understand loss because of the passing of your father.
They will now be re united in heaven together.
That is a beautiful picture of your mother. I see Michael in your mother.
We will pray for Sheila.
She is now in the loving hands of God.
There is comfort in knowing that she is loved and will be eternally loved forever.
Peace to all of your family , Mark.

Liz. Our condolences on the loss of your Mother.
A mother’s love is always with her children. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on-like a legacy of love that will always be with you. May that love surround you now and bring you peace.
I didn’t know Sheila, aka “Toots” but know her daughter Liz very well. I always loved hearing Liz’s stories about her mom…one fantastic lady! She sounds a lot like Liz but without the gambling. Matt, myself, Taylor and Colton send our condolences to you all ❤️

Sheila is such a wonderful happy lady. Even though I don’t know her for very long. She was always happy, think positive and every time I spoke to her, I felt happy too.

How very fortunate was I to have been part of her life and family. I will treasure the memories I have of a wonderful and so welcoming lady. Liz, Belinda and Marc, please know that my thoughts are with you all. She was a wonderful, kind and funny lady. I will never forget her saying to Liz and I in our much younger days…girls when a door closes a window opens. Thinking of you all.

You have so many beautiful memories, I’m sure if your mom and a life well lived.

Dear Liz, Bindy and Mark,
We just found out about the passing of your mother.
It must be difficult for you to lose your father and soon after your mother. For us, we lost good neighbours and the street is not the same without them.
We will always remember them and our thoughts are with you.
William and Dina
