elevated 88Bdj It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joseph Zelenka on Monday November 15th at the age of 80. After several months of declining health, Joseph died peacefully with his beloved wife Emilia by his side. Born in Slovakia on May 20, 1941, Joseph graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics and went on to build a successful career in the emerging field of computers. In 1979 he fled Slovakia with his family to Canada where starting over with but a few dollars in his pocket, Joseph built a successful life with many accomplishments and contributions to the field of computer science. On retirement, Joseph enjoyed spending time with family and split his time between his home in Canada and the sunny beaches of Florida.

Devoted and caring “Papa” (grandfather) of Martin, James, Victor, Ninka, Matthew, and Simon. Joseph will forever be remembered in the hearts and minds by many family and friends for his kindness, brilliant mind, generous heart and love for his family.

The Funeral Mass will celebrate his life on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church on 354 St. Clair Ave. West, Toronto
