elevated bB7sy Benny was born in the city of Cervaro, Italy. He lived and worked in France for a little while and then came to Canada in 1966 to marry his beautiful wife Filomena. He fathered 3 wonderful children; Claudia, Diana and Guiliano. Benny was a very hard working, respectful and gentle man. He was a true man that took care of his family. He was, among many things, a great tile setter. He has touched the homes of most, if not all, of his friends and family. Every time you look at the tiles in your home, the memory of Benny will always come back to you. A small smile will come to your face and a warm feeling will come over your body.
elevated bB7sy Benny is survived by his wife Filomena, his children Claudia and her husband David, Diana and her husband Marcello, Guiliano and his wife Coral, and all his grandchildren; Amadeus, Alessio, Andreas, Jessica, Marcus, Luca and Aidan. He had a tremendous love for his mother Caterina and carried her picture on his person at all times.
elevated bB7sy Benny loved and cherished all his family members in Italy, France and around the world wholeheartedly. Benny was truly one of a kind. A beautiful man that worked tirelessly from a young age of 13 to make his dreams come true. His paradise was his family and home and he took care of them with intense devotion. His simple and common sense approach to life has rubbed off on everyone that surrounded him.
Benny, you will be greatly missed.

elevated bB7sy Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, friends may have to wait to pay their respects during the visitation period. We are inviting family and friends to a walk-through visitation only to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter.

Benny, I am going to miss you so much – your laugh and smile were like no other. Coming to your house to make lasagnas was so much fun. You would always help me by grating the cheese. My deepest condolences to Memena, Diana, Claudia and Guiliano. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you lots of love.
I want Thank You Sabrina, your husband, your brother Enzo and his family for visiting my father. My father always enjoyed yours and your brother’s visits and friendship in his home. He was always ready to make anything in the kitchen for you both. Ben enjoyed eating your banana bread. He loved you both like family. You and your brother will always be welcome in his home and spend time together with my mother and he will be smiling down from heaven. God bless his loving, kind and humble soul.

We all remember his kindness and his happyness. I liked to hear his French accent but what I liked the most about him was the love he had for my grandfather. They have all their lives suffered from this estrangement, I hope that today they have found each other for eternity and that they work together from up there. We will never forget it.

I am so terribly sorry to learn about the loss of this true gentleman. I worked with Ben at Charles Howitt Public School for many, many years. He was a caring colleague who would do absolutely anything for you. Ben was a meticulous, well-respected worker and the school sparkled under his careful watch. We enjoyed many conversations after school. Through these talks, it was evident that Ben was so proud of each and every member of his family. I will forever hold dear the memories of this wonderful man. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family.

I’m truly saddened. I have the most fond memories of Ben. I was a young teacher at Charles Howitt Public School for seven years from 1991-1997. I too appreciated Ben’s common sense approach to life and always felt safe knowing that there was a level-headed father figure in the building. Some other dedicated teachers, who worked late, and I, shared many after-hours’ celebrations with Ben and Ron Sharkey. Their hard work and dedication to the school never went unnoticed and was always appreciated. Ben took great pride in all he did. Additionally, I kept in touch with Ben for many years after working at the school, and my previous home also benefitted from Ben’s tile-laying talents. I still think of him often. Sending my deepest condolences to the entire Canale family.
