elevated 5E0ZB Obituary
elevated 5E0ZB It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Doris Maria Pik-Ling Yung. Wife of Cyrus, loving and proud mother of Sonia (Gregory), and 四姑媽 or Auntie Doris to a multitude of nieces, nephews and godchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosa and Margaret, and her brothers Joseph (Joanna), Thomas (Rebecca) and Anthony (Shella). Being the quintessential middle child (fourth of eight siblings), she was ever the diplomat, mediator and sympathetic ear. Doris led a life full of faith, friends and music. She performed Chinese opera in her younger days in Hong Kong and sang in church choirs throughout her life including the senior choir at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in Winnipeg, where she lived for over 50 years after emigrating to Canada. Her beliefs instilled in her values that included acceptance, compassion and loyalty. The friendships she made while attending St. Paul’s Convent School in Hong Kong remained her closest ones throughout her life even as they all graduated, started careers, married, had children and emigrated to various countries. Doris was a blessing to so many lives and will be deeply missed by those who love her.

‘We were saddened to hear of the passing of Doris Yung. I remember her singing in the choir at MMOC when I was the organist. She also helped us in arranging several trips as a travel agent.
She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Our sincere condolences to the Yung family.
You may be gone from my sight.
But you are never gone from my heart.
Very sorry to hear of Doris’ passing. She sang with my mother in the MMOC choir and arranged a number of cruises for her, through the travel agency she ran out of the Fort Richmond mall. I am sure both of them are now enjoying the ultimate cruise and patiently waiting for the rest of us to join them.
