Marilyn will always hold a special place in our hearts as she gave so much to of herself to Hawthorn silently many times without being unnoticed… her warm smile and gentle approach consoled and helped many. I know she will be missed by you and many of us but I am sure we have a great intercessor so now she can still help all of us from heaven. ❤️🙏🏽
Sending love from England, Marilyn’s second home and the people she loved and whose lives she touched with laughter, kindness and her sweet heart. Funny, stoical, generous and welcoming. She threw open her doors and her children did the same.
I’d like to send, through this, a late English rose. Filled with the heady scent of summer already turning to embrace a different season. A rose that is filled with the anticipation of a new bloom. Marilyn who hauled herself over every British church, from cathedral to toe stubbing lump in the ground with fortitude and fun. With forward planning and commitment
We were blessed to know her and hers
Carole Foster and Eric Foster Smith.
Friends of Marilyn and her eldest son Greg and Linda. Our children too are friends. Eric and the lovely Alcuin and Conrad.
Marilyn and her eldest son made a church in England around a dinner table of family and friends.
When we say goodbye to our Queen on Monday, we will say goodbye to yours x
Thank you Carole for such a beautiful tribute to the beautiful soul that Marilyn was. I was blessed to have had her as a mother-in-law. I am sure that the rest of the family will really appreciate your words of condolence. Somehow fitting that she should have passed along with the Queen. Xx
My deepest sympathy and condolences to the whole family.

Dearest Paul, Mary and family,
My condolences on the passing of your Mum. She was a lovely woman and I am sorry to see her go. May your good memories see you through.
To Marilyn’s family we send our deepest sympathy. The world has lost a lovely woman. We will always remember her beautiful smile and her grace filled presence. We enjoyed it so much when Gerald and Marilyn came to our family gatherings; they always made a great effort to attend the Henry Watson Family Christmas and we were so happy to have them stay in our home. We pray for peace and strength to help you mourn your beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marilyn will be missed, never forgotten and loved forever.
Remembering Marilyn as a gentle and caring individual with a zest for life and tremendous love for family and friends. She is greatly missed. May she rest in peace.
I will fondly remember Mrs. Guest as she is in the photo posted here. Rosy cheeks, kind eyes and a warm smile. I enjoyed working with her at Hawthorn School and getting to spend time with her and Dr. Guest whenever they visited my parents at their farm. I am sending my positive thoughts and condolences to her family. xox
We are saddened by this loss to Marilyn’s extended family, of which we are a part, on the Miller side.
Please accept our sincere sympathy
