Obituary
elevated qJSzv Pennella, Angela
elevated qJSzv
elevated qJSzv It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing away of Angela Pennella on April 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the age 93. Beloved wife of the late Michele. Caring and devoted mother to Rosa (Antonio) and Candita (Paul). Proud Nonna to Domenic (Vanessa), Veronica and Massimo. Loving sister to Antonietta, Carmela (Michele), Agostino (Angelina), Angelo (Caterina), Michele (Nicolina), Giuseppe (Nicolina) and Lina (Giuseppe). Beloved sister-in-law to Antonietta (Angelo), Vincenzo (Angela), Angela (Dionino) the late Carmela (Angelo) and Costanza (Antonio). Angela will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of many nieces, nephews (here and abroad), extended family and friends.
elevated qJSzv Born in Bisaccia, Avellino, Italy, Angela grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Italian countryside. Emigrating to Canada in 1965, she and our father worked very hard to support their young family. She hand-made delicious pasta and pizza for the restaurant that she worked in for many years until her retirement. She loved to sing while cooking, sewing, and knitting but her beloved garden was one of her favourite passions. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life.
elevated qJSzv We are grateful to the many wonderful caregivers who took good care of her needs in her final years.
elevated qJSzv She will be greatly missed.

The Ship
I am standing upon the seashore, a ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her till at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says: “There, she is gone.”
Gone where?
Gone from my sight that is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side,
And she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her,
And at the moment when someone at my side says,
“There, she is gone,” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout:
“Here she comes!”
And that, is dying
