I didn’t know Tina personally, and wish I had gotten to know her. She sounds like an amazing human being who is much loved.
Tina’s influence is far-reaching; no doubt the children and grandchildren of those students who benefited from her strong spirit, and love that she poured into them as she taught and guided them through difficult challenges that are part of this life journey, will live on beyond any memory of her. Our legacy is often silent and unknown until we pass, but our good work lives on in the generations to come.
La notizia della morte di Tina ci ha molto dispiaciuti.
Porgiamo alla mamma CHIARINA e a tutti i parenti le nostre più sentite condoglianze.

After having lived a devoted and giving life, may Tina rest in peace. Amen.
Irene Ross, former colleague
Tina was a wonderful person. I met her in the 1987 in my very first job at a school where she taught English in the day and Italian in the evenings. Her energy and warmth were infectious and remarkable.
At George Brown, she was a supportive colleague and friend as well as a fantastic TESL trainer.
I am so saddened to receive this news. Rest in peace, Tina
I met Tina many years ago when I started working at the GBC School of ESL. She welcomed me – as she did everyone who was new – warmly and she made me feel part of the team. She generously shared resources, expertise and best practices with others, and she was clearly passionate about her profession. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues and her students.

Words cannot express how much Tina will be missed, and it’s impossible to know how many lives she touched and even changed over the years. I have worked with Tina since 2007, and she was truly an inspiring teacher. She was always so full of energy and positivity, and her classroom was a haven of love, fun and learning. A peak into her classroom would show a teacher who was giving it her all and students loving every second with her. Tina’s classroom and desk were always overflowing with the best and most imaginative ESL learning activities. She truly cared for her students and was always a joy to be around. Tina was also an encouraging colleague and collaborator. During the pandemic, we’d have hour-long phone calls discussing all kinds of things – sometimes about our curriculum, sometimes about how we’d like to get a group of us together to experience her Bahamas! She encouraged me to apply for a PD leave and we talked a lot about lifelong learning. I am so saddened by her loss. I’ll miss her voice and her laugh. We loved Tina at GBC ,and she will be remembered with great fondness.
I am devastated by the news and still have hard time believing it. What a terrible loss. Tina was not only my dear colleague for many years, but she was also a true friend, who was always there to support, inspire, and share her knowledge and her wisdom. Her smile, her sparkling personality, and her positive energy will always stay in our hearts 💕 Rest in peace, dear Tina. I love you forever!

She fostered a sense of enthusiasm and curiosity in each of her students, making the process of learning English not only educational but also enjoyable. Her patience, dedication, and unwavering belief in our abilities instilled in us the confidence to overcome language barriers and embrace new opportunities.

As we say our final goodbyes, let us find solace in the knowledge that Tina’s legacy lives on within each of us. Her teachings will continue to resonate, her impact will be felt, and her spirit will forever inspire us. Love you my dear teacher……..
Tina was quite simply the GOAT of our department – the greatest of all time. I passed her class several times a day for years, and every time I did, there was such a jolly, happy vibe in the room. As a teacher, she had it all – passion, diligence, creativity, knowledge, and charisma. Her students very quickly realized that they had won the lottery when they got her as a teacher.
Personally, she was so generous and upbeat and fun to hang out with – there are not enough adjectives! I remember one time having dinner at her place and mentioning how great the lasagna was. At the end of the evening, she wrapped up a huge piece and insisted that I take it home. That was just how she was. She will be sadly missed at our get-togethers in future.
Thank you, Tina, for the pleasant memories and for all of your help and expertise over the years.
Tina always shared her talents to mentor, and help others in any way she could. Her delicious bakes including her mini cheesecakes along with all of her surprises made every family event one to remember.
Tina’s kindness , curiosity in life , and independence through her love of driving always left something new to discover.
Her positive nature and big smile have left a huge void in everyone’s heart that will be hard to fill but we will always treasure our shared memories of all those special moments we spent together.
Tina will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to call her an important member of their family and a true friend.
Our love and respect for her will comfort us as we remember all the special occasions and memories that shaped our lives.
Dear Tina, I wish I didn’t take time for granted. I foolishly assumed that there would always be more time in the future for visits and get-togethers. I have been mourning your loss so much. I am so sorry for any suffering you endured and for the painful loss your mother, family, friends, colleagues and students will feel from now on. You were such a joy. Rest in peace sweetheart. Love always….
It saddened me deeply to hear of the passing of Tina.
Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Chiarina, and family.
I hope god gives you the strength to get through this difficult time and that you find comfort in all your memories.
Rest In Peace Tina.
It is with the utmost sadness and a profound sense of loss that I write this remembrance of my friend, colleague and former student, Tina Intini. I extend my deepest condolences to Mrs Chiara Intini and all of Tina’s cousins and extended family. I am so sorry for your loss and ours.
I first met Tina when she was a student in the TESL program at George Brown College. She was lively, bright and always cheerful in class. After she had graduated, Tina was eventually hired to teach ESL at George Brown. She was a great teacher, always responsive to her students’ needs and interests. As a colleague she was wonderful to work with, friendly, helpful and resourceful. She got along with everyone, and was always available to discuss teaching issues or to join in fun get-togethers. Eventually Tina agreed to share her knowledge with new ESL teachers by teaching methodology in The George Brown TESL program. She was well liked by these student teachers and got along with all of them. In time GBC sponsored us to travel to TESOL conferences to do presentations to teachers of English throughout North America. We travelled together to New York, Boston, Denver, Seattle, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, San Antonio, St Louis, Philadelphia and even Guatemala. Tina and I became close friends and collaborators. We shared worries, successes, wonderful experiences and many adventures. Tina was extremely generous, openhearted, empathetic, and a wonderful companion. I will miss Tina’s humour, laughter, practicality, creativity and optimism. Tina was unique, an exceptional human being and life was richer with her in it. Thank you Tina for your friendship. I will always remember and cherish the times and spaces we shared.
At this difficult time, I hope that Mrs Intini and Tina’s family can find some peace and comfort in knowing how much Tina was loved and appreciated by everyone she interacted with
I began writing so many times, but erased. I am speechless, numb, inarticulate, sullen by the loss of Tina. I am edged on to do it by hearing her beautiful pitched voice in my head ” come on Marleise, you can do it”.
Tina and I shared a space with others in the staff room at GBC and was always opened for a quick question. I just had to turn my chair around to say “Hey Tina what do you think…” Her desk was so exuberant, well organized with student-centered resources.
She is passionate, selfless and always of good cheer. Tina was my supervisor during my TESOL journey at U of T. To move from the staff room to sit in her classroom to observe Tina, was ‘awe-mazing’, ‘awe-inspiring’ and awesome. I learnt so much from her consultations and zealous skillset.
Tina is one of a kind, she has impacted my approach to teaching. Tina, Tina, Tina how much will I miss you?….Let me count the waves!!!!
I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Tina’s passing. She was one of my dear teachers in the TESL program and a great mentor to me. She was incredible and truly inspirational.
Thank you, Tina for all your care, passion and kindness as a teacher and a colleague. I am grateful to have known you and had the privilege of working with you. My deepest condolences to all her family, friends, and colleagues. May your loving memories of her help you through this difficult time.
I want to extend my deepest condolences to Mrs. Intini and Tina’s cousins during this incredibly difficult time. The passing of Tina has undoubtedly created a tremendous void in many lives, and my heart goes out to each and every one of you.
I hope you find solace in knowing that Tina made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues. I had the privilege of working with her, and it was truly an honor. My first encounter with Tina was as a TESL student at George Brown College, and I was immediately struck by her creativity, dedication, and lively energy. As both her student and colleague, I learned so much from her. She was always there to support me, whether it was in my teaching or personal life. I remember feeling incredibly nervous about teaching online for the first time, and without even asking for help, Tina reached out to me through a lengthy video call. She patiently walked me through the basics of online teaching, easing my worries.
One thing that truly stood out about Tina was her inclusive approach to curriculum development. She actively involved level 1 sessional teachers like myself, seeking our feedback and discussing ways to enhance the curriculum. Her approach made me feel like an equal and boosted my confidence as a teacher. Teaching her curriculum not only enhanced my teaching experience but also shaped my teaching style. She taught me how to think like an L2 learner, and I will forever be grateful for that.
Tina’s legacy will live on through her former students and the future level 1 students she will impact with her dynamic and rich curriculum. I am deeply grateful to have crossed paths with her and will always cherish the memories and knowledge she shared.
Tina’s exceptional teaching, warmth, and ability to effortlessly inspire students left a lasting impression. As a colleague, I valued our time together and appreciated her supportive and bubbly nature. Though her absence will be deeply felt, the thought of Tina will always bring a smile to my face.
To Tina’s family and friends, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
I am saddened to learn of Tina’s untimely death. She was a dedicated and talented teacher beloved by her TESL and ESL students. She leaves an enduring legacy that over the decades has inspired teachers and students alike.
Dear Tina. I was deeply saddened to hear about your passing… Your unwavering dedication, patience, and passion as a Level One English teacher for ESL students have left a lasting impact on countless students. Your commitment to education went far beyond the confines of the classroom, as you took the extra step to care for your students, like taking them out and letting them immerse in the culture of the city. And this is how I met you because you took a student who needed extra help into the student success office. This is how caring you are. Your patience and dedication were truly admirable.
During this difficult time, my thoughts and prayers are with your family and loved ones. May they find solace in knowing that you touched the lives of so many and made a lasting difference. Your departure has left a void that cannot be filled, but the impact you made will continue to shape the lives of those fortunate enough to have been your students.
