elevated JYcA3 Obituary
elevated JYcA3 Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 19, 2023 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Emidia and loving companion of the late Filomena. Caring and devoted father to John (Carol) and Franca (Claudio). Proud Nonno to Robert (Katie), Nicholas, Thomas (Carley) and Jessica. Filippo will be reunited in heaven with his parents Pietro and Clorinda and siblings Pasqua, Domenica and Marino. He will be fondly remembered and missed by many family and friends.
elevated JYcA3 Filippo was born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy and served in the Italian military. He left Italy to work in the coal mines of Charleroi, Belgium before immigrating to Canada. After arriving in Halifax in 1956, Filippo settled in Toronto where he was joined by his wife Emidia and started their family. Filippo had a long and successful career in the construction industry where he would later point out to his grandchildren all the projects he had worked on.
elevated JYcA3 Filippo’s passions included fishing, gardening, Italian card games, watching his grandchildren’s activities, travelling, the Leafs but mostly enjoying the company of many friends and family.
elevated JYcA3 The family is grateful for the kinship and care provided by Villa DaVinci and Sunrise Retirement communities and the staff at Credit Valley Hospital.
elevated JYcA3 If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
We will remember all the times we had at Christmas and playing Bocce. He was always easy going and had a positive attitude. If you were his friend, you would be one for life. Unfortunately we will not be able to visit, but our deepest sympathy is with all of you at this time. May God bless all of you as He takes Filippo in His arms to continue caring for him as you did on earth. Uncle Tony and Aunt Mary

Non ci siamo comisciuti,
Ho alcuni aneddoti tramite i racconti di mamma.
Le più sentite condoglianze a Giovanni et Franca e tutta la famigliada me e Tetesa.

Was a wonderful neighbour for many years, his stories and perception on life were very methodically unique, always inviting good vibes, eventually it was decided that he should leave the home and friends that he took good care of while living in this community.
His voice and presence was immediately missed when he finally did leave.
The notion of him being a good new environment suggested he was in a great new phase in his late years.
Gardening and being outdoors keeping busy was something he truly enjoyed
As with many seniors isolation related to covid, and other issues had a tremendous impact on his abilities to remain active as he wished
His soul touched many peoples lives, all who knew him will cherish his profound sprit and zest for appreciating life, God bless you in heaven as you wished and prayed for dear old friend
We were not able to attend the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances
Condolences and sympathies to all family members
