elevated S1DXx Obituary

elevated S1DXx CONN, Patricia ‘Pat’ [née Murray]. b. January 17, 1934 Edinburgh, Scotland, d. November 10, 2023, Toronto, Canada. Survived by children Murray [Jennifer] and Stephanie [Markus], grandchildren Martine, Andrew, Alexandra and Dillon, nieces and nephews including grand-niece Laurel Patricia. Predeceased by husband Jack, sisters Nan, Isla, and brother Jackie.

elevated S1DXx Pat was the angelic middle child— top of her class, captain of her netball team, and singing in a choir at the Edinburgh Festival. Later she became an asset to every office she worked at as a stenographer. She and Nan immigrated to Toronto in 1958, setting out bravely with little but soon establishing themselves. There Pat met her beloved Jack—roommate to Nan’s future husband Tom. Their love and devotion for 58 years was inspiring. Pat knew how to make every occasion special, so they celebrated every milestone with dinners, nights at the theatre, mini-vacations and extended trips. Pat would compose poems for special occasions, too. She loved Christmas, baking and decorating profusely to entertain family— Nan’s and Jack’s brother Ken’s.

elevated S1DXx Pat had a clear singing voice and a bell-like laugh, and both filled the home as she raised the family and kept the house ‘perfect.’ She was loved by all but also had a sarcastic Scottish wit. She took up several crafts which she did perfectly, of course, including traditional rug-hooking and crewel. She was passionate about fitness, attending high-impact aerobics classes well into her 70s; throughout her life she thought nothing of walking for hours on end in the city.
