He is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 49 years Fatima Morgado, his three children; Michael, Sandy, and Christopher, adored grandchildren; Selina, Nathaniel, Luca, Angel, and Jordana, loving dogs; Mickey, Daisy, Jaxson, and Anxious, and his loving sister; Esmeralda Oliveira and six nephews and niece, as well as extended family and friends.

elevated gzN17 Joao met his soulmate at the tender age of 32. They’ve been inseparable ever since, displaying their love for one another through dancing, laughing, making jokes, singing to each other, watching television together but most importantly just being each other’s companion. He often cited that he loved his boys but he had a special place in his heart for his little girl whom he called his princess. He came to Canada and created a beautiful life for his family from the ground up. He had a strong drive and passion for building furniture, and audio and videotaping. He enjoyed being creative, and his nickname was Architect Morgado.

elevated gzN17 One of his greatest joys was becoming a “Vovo” (grandfather) and spending time cracking jokes, teasing, making TikTok’s with his granddaughter, making funny faces, and spoiling his grandchildren with all of his love. Always the life of the party, he brought great joy wherever he went with his dancing skills and comedic personality. He had an infectious laugh and smile that lit up any room he was in. He was a lively, enthusiastic man who found great happiness in bringing a smile to everyone’s face and prided himself by being a prankster. No matter his age he had always loved pranking his loved ones and making everyone laugh. He enjoyed every moment and enjoyed life to the fullest.

elevated gzN17 He will be dearly missed by his family and leaves behind an abundance of stories and memories that his family and friends will forever cherish. His passing will be deeply felt by many and his life will be joyously remembered and long celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have shared in it.

elevated gzN17 In lieu of flowers and in keeping with his wishes, the family would appreciate monetary donations which will be forwarded to the cancer society.
