elevated wNcju It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our strong, loving and beautiful mother Manda Pepic, who left this world on March 4th, at the age of 70. Manda is a respected member of our community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Manda was born and raised in Bosna, and lived a hard life growing up . Manda was raised by a single mother who cared and did her best to provide for her and her four siblings. She later met her husband Ilija, they fell in love and wed in 1971, only a few short months of knowing one another. Manda was determined to provide better opportunities for her future children and decided to come to Canada with her husband in 1972.

elevated wNcju Manda and her husband came to Canada with next to nothing and had to start new in a country with no english nor any support from her family. Manda worked tirelessly alongside her husband to start building a life and slowly working towards obtaining a home where she could one day grow a family. Manda was known for her caring and nurturing nature, her kind heart, her devotion to family and friends, and most of all, her incredible strength to persevere and her loving soul. Manda was a very hardworking woman who never stopped. She pushed through every challenge she was faced with and believed that through prayer and faith, things would work themselves out in time. She worked many different jobs, later becoming a homemaker and dedicated mother. Manda did whatever she could to ensure she could provide a good life for the family she prayed to have one day. Many years later, Manda and her husband, Ilija, had four children that she loved more than anything. Manda had a passion for cooking, baking, and hosting gatherings for her closest friends and family.

elevated wNcju Manda enjoyed watching movies, all while indulging with sweets or something salty, hanging out with her daughter’s, and looked forward to shopping or spa days.
She loved going out or ordering in time to time one of her favourites Haddock and Chips and going on coffee dates with her closest girlfriends. Manda was always a social butterfly; she loved nothing more than to visit friends and often liked to meet and have get-togethers. She enjoyed being in the company of those dearest to her. Manda also took pleasure in regularly staying in and watching Croatian cooking and baking shows, learning Croatian home remedies, and listening to upbeat Croatian music. Manda absolutely loved vacationing down south, particularly in Cuba, where she shared many happy times with many family members and great friends.

elevated wNcju Manda’s greatest joys were moments spent with her children and her grandchildren. She loved spending time watching her children together, and nothing made her happier than her treasures, her four grandbabies. She adored them all so much. She enjoyed watching their soccer games, swimming, skating or gymnastic lessons and taking part in celebrations at their schools. Manda was overjoyed to just simply play with them, sing to them and shower them with countless hugs and kisses. Manda’s love flowed abundantly and unconditionally towards Luka, Matijas, Alias and Teo. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She always had a smile on her face and constantly spoiled them with gifts and treats. Those that were very close to Manda knew that she was someone they could count on and trust in a time of need. Her generosity and thoughtfulness were displayed in all the friendships she cherished.

elevated wNcju As we say goodbye to Manda, let us hold tight to the love she gave us, the lessons she taught us, and the beautiful memories we shared with her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Manda will always be remembered with love and respect. Manda is survived by her children Ana, Eva, Ilija, and Marko; her sons-in-law Rudy Spajic and Ivica Salopek; her grandchildren Luka, Matijas, Alias, and Teo; and a community of family and friends who will miss her very much.

elevated wNcju Rest in Peace, Mama. Your love and light will always be with us.
