I am honoured that Alida was my close friend and sister in Christ . At this sad time, I am flooded by memories of our wonderful time together in adventures of faith and fun. In her positivity, her hospitality and her open-hearted regard of others, she was unique.
From the very first time I encountered her, I knew I had met a person of immense kindness but whose priorities and values were of the eternal, enduring sort. She valued faith, family and friends above all else. She loved without measure and was much loved in return. I miss her today. I suspect I will miss her always.
I extend my condolences to Alida’s family, Marcus, Robert, Sarah and Owen. May the Lord bless and comfort you at this time of loss.
Marcus, Robert, Sarah and Owen. Your mother and grandmother was a woman of inspiration and great love of her faith. My visits on Sundays to bring her the Holy Eucharist brought such joy to her knowing that she had the true presence of Jesus within her. Alida was always very grateful and appreciative. She had a welcoming spirit. She loved everyone and they loved her. I will miss her sharing stories of her lived experiences from her wedding day, to living in various parts of the world. My sincerest condolences to the family and may God give you peace and comfort to know that she is now with the love of her life Tao and resting in the loving arms of her creator.
I will remember Alida as a woman of peace. In prayer groups, conferences, the School of Healing and Prayer, bible study, and our Healing Net, the peace of Jesus was in her eyes and on her lips.
May we each cherish all of our wonderful memories of our friendship and faith. Yes even the amazing almond cookies will forever bring a smile to me.
May God grant every one of us comfort and peace with joyful memories as we mourn.
Marcus, Robert, Sarah, Owen, Please accept my sincere condolences as we mourn the loss of my sister, Ali. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Tante Cor
“When loved ones die, you have to live on their behalf. See things as though with their eyes. Remember how they used to say things, and use the words oneself. Be thankful that you can do things they cannot and also feel the sadness of it.”
Louis de Bernieres
My thoughts are very much with Marc, Robert, Sarah, Owen and my mom, Corrie, at this difficult time. I have so many fond memories of Tante Ali, reaching far back into my childhood. Her warm and friendly voice resonates throughout the many milestones we’ve shared together over the years. We share the same name and she was the aunt who knew me best. Tante Ali always made me feel welcome and her love and kindness will not be forgotten.
Love, Alyda
I have only fond memories of our lovely Tante Ali; my favorite among these is seeing and hearing how much she and my mom could laugh (with tears in their eyes) when they were together.
Tante Ali’s warmth, kindness and love of family stays with me.
My thoughts are with our cousins Marc and Robert and their loved ones.
Much Love,
