elevated kzqiv William de Jong, born on March 26, 1925, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family in the days and hours preceding his death. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jacoba de Jong, and his son, John. William was a devoted husband to Jacoba and a loving father to their children: John, who is survived by his wife Iris, René (Lili), Bill (Elaine), and Joanne (Steve). William’s heart overflowed with pride and joy for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were all dearly cherished by him. He was the cherished Opa of Stephanie (Carlos), Kristine (Tyler), Jaclyn (Wayne), Adam (Suzette), and Jake, and great-grandchildren Jaxon, Benjamin, Sofia, Angeline, and the awaited baby on the way. William was not only known for his unwavering love for his family but also for his sense of humor. His quick wit brought smiles and laughter to those around him. His gentle spirit, enduring love, and sense of humor touched countless lives and will be deeply missed. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Holland Christian Homes for their exceptional care and support during William’s time there. Their dedication brought comfort and peace to him and his family during his journey.
