elevated LYoP2 Obituary
Just as she always lived her life, our cherished Silvana passed away gently, quietly, and peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday May 20, 2024 in her 97th year.

elevated LYoP2 Silvana’s home was always filled with love, laughter, and delicious food, creating countless memories for her family and friends. Silvana was the loving “Ma” to her children, Gianna, Mara (late Piero), Sonia, Peter (Kathy). Her eight grandchildren, Mauro (Pia), Andria (Franco), Nadia, Luca (Cristina), Davide, Marco, Christian, and Julia, will remember their Nonna as a role model of how to live with kindness and simplicity. Silvana delighted in the joy of being bisnonna to Alexander, Michael, Lauren, Matthew, Ava, Victoria, Sylvie, Emma, and Pietro, who she loved dearly. Silvana joins her husband, parents, siblings, and many lifelong friends whose memories she treasured greatly.

elevated LYoP2 Silvana was born in the small mountain town of Manazzons, in Northern Italy, in 1927. She grew up alongside her brother, Giovanni, and sister, Pierina. After marrying the love of her life, Nino, Silvana moved to France, and later settled in Toronto, which she called home for the rest of her life. In Canada and beyond, Silvana was a friend to countless people in her community, welcoming everyone with open arms, and offering her wisdom, empathy, and a good cup of espresso on the veranda at just the right time. Sustained by her strong faith, Silvana overcame challenges throughout her life with grace and optimism, inspiring those around her. An expert gardener, she spent countless hours in her orto, tending to her flowers and vegetables. Beyond her garden, Silvana sowed seeds of love, which grew and surrounded her all her life.

elevated LYoP2 The Tramontin family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible individuals who helped care for Silvana in the past few years, particularly, Arlyne, Asia, and Katrina, and her special nurse, Kerrie.

elevated LYoP2 To honour Silvana’s legacy of bringing people together over a meal, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Table in her memory.
