Diane Denomme (neé Gervais) October 26, 1939 – June 5, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Denomme on June 5, 2024 surrounded by her family. Devoted and loving wife to Reginald for 68 years, dedicated mother to Denise (Paul), Mike, Christine (Brian), and Ben (Renee). Caring grandmother to Noelle (Kevin), Natalie (Matt), Myles (Gorana), Sean (Meagan), Kelsey (Ben), Kayla (Anthony), and Kiana. Cherished great grandmother to Juliana, Jaxon, Leo, Ava, Nola, Madelyn, Breanna, Lucas, and Kaiden.

Diane was committed to her family, loving wife and world traveler. Having grown up in Toronto, she met and fell in love with her soul mate, Reginald, at the tender young age of 16. They were married in 1956 and have stayed together until her final moments. Diane was the anchor, confidant and caring parent of her four children. She was selfless in her support. She helped her children and extended family in countless ways: be it through challenging times as well as undertaking tasks on their behalf like filing income returns, developing resumes and writing covering letters.  She always made time to help those family members when needed. 

Diane was employed at Canada Cup for all her working years. Her caring approach was evident at work. She was very well liked by management and her coworkers. She was known to be someone who would always lend a hand, help solve a problem and provide guidance to those who were learning. Diane loved doing crosswords with her colleagues at work during her breaks. At home, she enjoyed reading, excelled at drawing, played the piano and would sing in her beautiful voice, just like her father, Louis. During her retirement, Diane would travel the world with Reginald. They visited many foreign and exotic places such as China, Egypt and Morrocco, just to name a few. Also, she became a snowbird. With Reginald, she would spend many winters in Florida.

Diane’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She would make a special connection with each one.  Her proudest moments were family gatherings and being surrounded by her ever-expanding family. For each one of the grandchildren, she created a photo album with pictures documenting their lives. The albums would be opened up, every time a grandchild visited, with more current pictures being added. Diane was the proud keeper of family memories.

As her end drew near, it was getting very difficult for Diane to express herself. However, on her final day with us, Diane was full of love. With clarity, and with her heart, she told Reginald, he was her only true love for all time. 

Diane you will be sorely missed. You have all our love. May you rest in peace.
