elevated 3ecGR It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cheerful and dear mother Assunta Mazzotta on July 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Luciano. Caring and devoted mother to Frank (Marisa), Silvana (Mike), Claudio, and Angelo (Caroline). Proud Nonna to Lucio (Daniela), Michael (Daniela), Angie, Franco (Rosemary), Justin (Vanessa), Danielle (Michael), Adrian (Sage), Joshua (Nicole), Matthew (Ashley), Adam (Alessia) and Bis Nonna to 17 wonderful great grandchildren. Assunta, aka Gradita/Susie/Stella lived a very colourful and successful life as a hard working restauranteur. Always the very boisterous life of the party. Matriarch of our family, she was always providing guidance and advice in her old school manner helping to pave the way to success for her children, extended family and so many others that knew her. Assunta will be forever lovingly remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. If desired, donations in Assunta’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

To the Mazzotta family: My deepest and sincerest condolences. I will never forget everything Zia Gradita did for me. Often feeling different due to the way we were raised, she made me feel like I had a family. To me it was a precious gift. Her love, support, and understanding provided a sense of belonging and normalcy that I deeply needed. Anytime I would tell her about how I felt, she would often tell me that there is nothing we can do but move forward. I can see her shrugging her shoulders with the nod, that it is what it is.
