elevated DWPei The family announces with sorrow, the passing of Maria Delfina Arruda on July 26, 2024 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Joao Benevides Arruda. Loving mother of Joe Arruda (Anna Arruda – wife), cherished grandmother of Megan and Ryan. Fondly remembered by her brother Jose Correia and her family. She was born in Ribeira Seca, Acores, Portugal. She married her loving husband Joao Arruda on January 7, 1962 (deceased). They immigrated to Canada thereafter. Maria has always been a dedicated, hard worker and had many fond memories working as a nurse assistant at Toronto Western Hospital for many years. Maria was an active parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and adored attending mass daily. She will be missed by her friends and family and leaves behind an abundance of stories and memories that her family and friends will forever cherish.

My sincere condolences to the family. I will never forget my childhood memories of her. Especially at Christmas, standing in our kitchen singing carols while cooking up a storm. She was a beacon of light and faith. I am sure the warmth in her presence will be missed by many. May she rest in peace for all eternity.
