elevated H1GmF Although I am tasked with writing an obituary for my beloved husband, Mariusz Sadowski, born in Kielce, Poland, June 21, 1957, this is a heartbreaking assignment. I cannot think of a tribute less fitting of this extraordinary man who left us on August 18th, 2024 than the typical laundry List of facts and statistics that usually gets printed. In honour of this incredible spirit, here is how it was in no particular order. He was a rough, tough cream puff, a Hopeless Romantic, who loved a good glass of scotch and a bottle of Polish diesel. Being Mariusz was a hard job. He shared his joy easily and hid his pain masterfully.
Each of his fur babies, Rocky, Charlie and Dino all have a piece of his heart. His heart was as big as his hands. He was a master craftsman who could build anything but never ask him to paint it. Pickles and Cannolis always, Yes. Avocado and Lamb always, No. He was a lover of classic rock, John Wayne, Jason Bourne and his favorite Cousin Vinny. He loved the holidays, surrounded by family and friends. Famous Sadowski BBQ’s. Telling jokes and making others laugh was one of his favorite pastimes. He was Dad to Wojciech, whom he was so proud of even if he could never park the car the way his Dad wanted him to. His blue eyes and dimples had Charlette at Hello. Thank goodness Tim Hortons had a bigger parking lot than Starbucks that day. Mariusz was a deeply loved husband, and father. He was caring and dependable, a man you could count on no matter what! He will be missed by all, but forgotten by none who had the privilege to know and love him. His final words to me were “Love You More”. Donations in memory of Mariusz can be made to the Toronto General Hospital or The Save Me Dog Rescue.

MARIUSZ
The worlds a little dimmer today.
The reality has not set in, and I cannot believe I am writing this message.
I am in tears thinking back of the 23 years I have known Mariusz aka. Dad. I have known him more than half my life. He had always been a man of few words, but during the last few months of his life, he began referring me as his “daughter”. This meant a lot to me.
I will remember all our times together. Wojo and I miss you so very much. Rest in love and peace.
Charlette, I have never seen happiness in Mariusz until he met you. You have given him the gift of true love and I have never seen him have fun until you came into his life!!!!! Thank you for everything you have done for him and continue to still do for him and for everyone around. I cannot imagine your heartbreak at this difficult time. Wojo and I are here for you, forever and always.

Droga Charlotte, dziękuję Ci za piękne, pełne miłości słowa o Mariuszu. Tak, Maniek (bo tak nazywała Go rodziana w Polsce) był człowiekiem wyjątkowym. Pełnym ciepła, zawsze uśmiechnięty, wyluzowany. W Jego otoczeniu wszyscy czuli się wspaniale. Kiedy mieszkał w moim rodzinnym domu w Kielcach podczas studiów, spędzaliśmy ze sobą dużo czasu i bardzo się polubiliśmy. Jego poczucie humoru, wesołe podejście do życia, optymizm powodował, że każdy czuł się w Jego towarzystwie wspaniale. Dużo razem rozmawialiśmy, śmialiśmy i chodziliśmy na imprezy do braci Wojtka i Piotrka, gdzie tańczyliśmy do białego rana. Był to piękny, niezapomniany czas. Będąc w Kanadzie Maniek często kontaktował się ze mną. Prowadziliśmy długie nocne rozmowy. Wspominaliśmy czasy w Polsce, rozmawialiśmy o tym jak Mu się żyje w Kanadzie. Maniek zawsze też pytał, co słychać u mnie i rodziny w Polsce. Z rozmów tych wynikało, że dzięki swojej wiedzy, talentowi i ciężkiej pracy udało Mu się odnaleźć swoje miejsce w Kanadzie. Rozmawialiśmy tak, jakby nic się nie zmieniło, jak prawdziwi przyjaciele. Nieraz prosiłam Mańka, żebyście razem przyjechali do Polski i wiem, że mieliście Charlotte takie plany. Wielki żal, że nie udało nam się spotkać. Wiem też, że dzięki Tobie Charlotte, Maniek stał się szczęśliwym człowiekiem. Był w Tobie bardzo zakochany, uwielbiał Cię, mówił mi o tym. Cieszyłam się, że odnalazł wreszcie spokój, którego wcześniej Mu w Kanadzie brakowało. Szkoda, że trwało to tak krótko. Tak, to prawda, żadne słowa nie opiszą, jakim niespotykanym człowiekiem był mój brat Maniek. Jednak wszyscy ci, którzy Go w swoim życiu spotkali, o tym wiedzą.
Maniek, na zawsze pozostaniesz w mojej pamięci, będzie mi Ciebie bardzo brakować.

You ended your journey way too soon, which really pissed me off. I am terribly sad. Even though we haven’t been in touch lately, losing a person like you is a huge loss for me.
