Bernice Bradbury (nee Doty)
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our wonderful Mother, Bernice Bradbury. Bernice died peacefully in her home on September 4, 2024 surrounded by family. Bernice was born in the Beaches area of Toronto on January 20, 1925 to Frank and Vera Doty. She belonged to the Balmy Beach Canoe Club where she met her future husband, Philip. They married in April 1946 and continued to live in the Beaches until they moved to Ottawa, then New Brunswick and back to Toronto. Upon their return to Toronto they joined the Bayview Golf and Country Club where she was a member for over 40 years. Besides golf, Bernice was also a strong Maple Leafs fan and an avid bridge player. Always smiling, she enjoyed playing bridge with friends often and later on in life she played bridge every day, on the Internet, with friends around the world. Bernice was known for her beautiful knitting. She made beautiful outfits, sweaters, afghans and baby blankets for family and friends. Bernice is survived by her 5 children, Patricia (Ross), Stephen (Janice), Carol, Michelle and Philip as well as 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. As she joins her husband Philip in Heaven, she will truly be missed by her family and friends as well as her sister Lorraine Kirk, sister-in-law Lois Doty and many nieces and nephews.

I have fond memories of Bernice, (Mrs. Bradbury to me) and her close connection to our family and good friend to my mom and dad. Bernise knit all my sisters Afghans when we got married. Please accept our deepest condolences. Bernice was a kind woman.
