Andrew was probably the nicest person I ever worked with. When I was a junior member in the team, it was his support that helped me through many difficult situations and kept me positive. He was the kindest, and many times he went beyond what most people will do the support a new team member. He was also extremely humble to everyone and always willing to help. Even when we worked in different teams, he never hesitated when we asked for any help, and would spend hours or days of his time to help other members. He was such a rare gem of person. I am extremely shocked to hear the sad new of his demise. When I talked to him in June before my last working day in the company, and he wished me good luck, I never imagined that I would hear such a sad news. May he rest in peace.
In Memory of Andrew (My brother-in-law)
Dearest Andrew
How are you? How do you like living in your new abode ? I heard its full of wonders and is a place of eternal love and joy? Let’s make a pledge and meet there later, Ok? Promise? I know, as usual, you are so trustworthy and reliable, we can always count on you to take care of things and warm the place up before we all arrive.
From the moment you became part of our family, you have brought a sense of warmth that has touched us all. Although you are a man of few words, your soft-spoken nature, kindness and unpretentious demeanor spoke volumes and exemplifies what a true gentleman should be like. Though our time with you on this earthly abode was short-lived, those fond memories will always be cherished; whether it was the singing moments we shared together at your latest birthday celebration, watching Chinese action-based movies at my home in Hong Kong, shopping for electronic gadgets in Shamshuipo or enjoying sumptious buffets at Icon on Mody Road
and Erawan Bangkok — Each memory is a testament to your gentle and kind spirit that will forever remain.
Needless to say the least, your dedication and love for my sister, Ann , was also indisputable. You have left behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever shine brightly and endure through the hearts of many who know you.
Andrew, my brother-in-law, did not “lose” his battle with cancer. He did not get beaten or beaten down by it. He fought, and engaged his enemy, outsmarted and outran it.
He is just currently taking a sojourne and retiring from his earthly abode to live at a much celebrated place called ‘Heaven’.
Andrew had a couple of very long and tiring weeks. He is a bit tired and is just relaxing and enjoying his new found niche, waiting patiently and eagerly over there for our next get together with his beloved friends and relatives. Until then, we shall meet again with love and joy.
Oh Andrew, in the meanwhile, would you help with decorating the Christmas tree first with those shining stars and dashing rainbows that Ann bought?
We shall all join you later.
Love , Robin
I had the privilege to work with Andrew for over 10 years at Rogers and he was one of the best colleagues I’ve ever had. His dedication, humility, selflessness, kindness, and joy was contagious and made a big impact to everyone he worked with. I will miss him dearly and will cherish the memories and warmth he brought to our life everyday at work.
Ann-Melia, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. May you find comfort in the memories you shared together and may Andrew’s soul rest in peace.
Ann, on behalf of myself, my family along with Auntie Ida and Uncle Jonathan, please accept our condolences on the passing of Andrew. Our collective hearts go out to you during this difficult time. We will always remember Andrew’s kindness and gentle nature which always shined through during our many family lunches and dinners together on happy occasions like Chinese New Year, Thanksgivings and Christmas. This is how we’ll remember him, laughing or telling one of his stories that made everyone have a smile and a warmth in their hearts – his memory will live on through all those whose lives he has touched. Wishing you comfort, peace, and support.
