elevated yj1L3 March 22, 1937 – November 27, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Joao at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga on November 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, Azores on March 22, 1937, Joao left his homeland to join his brother Manuel in Canada in 1957 to forge a better life. It was here that, a few years later, he would meet and marry the love of his life, the woman who selflessly stood by his side until his very last breath, Grasiela Cardoso.

Joao was predeceased by his father Joao, mother Maria, and brother Manuel.

The family would like to thank everyone at Trillium for their patience and care during past three months, and our entire family for their love and support during the final difficult years of Joao’s battle with Parkinson’s and dementia.
