Marchesan, Ilario died peacefully on January 3rd, 2025 at Wesburn Manor Senior Citizens Centre in Toronto in his 83rd year.
Ilario was born in Castello Di Godego, Treviso, Italy, in 1942. He immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 15 in 1957. He worked at Stelco Hamilton Works as a crane operator for over 30 years and retired in 1998.
In his retirement years, Ilario, or “Papa” as he was affectionately called, enjoyed spending time with his family. He was particularly close to his grandchildren and spent countless hours with them at the park, at the condo pool, or sitting around the table playing card and board games.
Ilario is survived by his wife Danica of 34 years; his stepdaughters Cathy (David Draper) and Marianne (Tony Rocca); and his grandchildren David, Vanessa, Matthew, Lauren, and Ryan. Ilario is also survived by his siblings Lidia (Giuseppe Stramare), Pietro (Bianca Civiero), and Erminio (Kathy Jazvac). Ilario was predeceased by his parents Bruno and Natalia (nee Morosin), and his brothers Carlo (2019), Mario (2018) and Giovanni (1951).
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wesburn Manor for the compassionate care they provided to Ilario during his stay.

Saddened by the news of our Zio’s passing. He was a second father to his nieces & nephews growing up. He brought us everywhere on weekends, participating in all sports imaginable. We will miss you, & we thank you for all the memories you created for us. Rest in peace Zio. All our love Natalia & Dwayne Trapp.
