Stanley Anthony Miles
elevated Kz2wR With sadness, yet profound gratitude, for a long and happy life, we share that Stanley Anthony (Tony) Miles born June 13, 1929 passed peacefully at his home on January 4, 2025 surrounded by family. His greatest joy and accomplishment was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Margaret, of 68 years. Tony was the dear father of Sally (Herb), Steve (Nina), Peter (Cathy), John (Jennifer), and Jen (Dave). He was the deeply loved Grandad of Laura (Luke), Mike (Gillian), David (Timea), Samantha (Trip), Ian, Alex, Ben (Sarah), Chris, Kelly, Simon, Rachael, Emma, Abby, and Maddie. His life was complete with the arrival of his beloved great grandchildren Annika, Claire, Nathan, Adam, Lizzie, Callum, George, Arthur, and one more expected in February. He was predeceased by his dear sister Pam and brother David.
elevated Kz2wR Born and raised in India to British parents, educated as a Civil Engineer in London, England, and immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. He was proud of his career as an engineer, and worked in Canada and around the world. He was known for being a true gentleman, grateful and selfless. Some of the things Dad loved most were travelling, sketching, spending time on his sailboat and in his garden. His ability to make just about anything with wood is legendary, and has been passed along to his many children and grandchildren. He taught us laughter is good for the soul, keeping his sense of humour to the end.

elevated Kz2wR If the definition of a life well lived is to have loved and been loved then his was surely the best of lives. He will live on through the lives and hearts of his family.
elevated Kz2wR Funeral will be held at Annunciation Church, 3 Combermere Dr, North York on Thursday January 9 at 10am. Reception to follow.

We will always remember Tony as a kind, gentle lovely man with many great stories who led a full and interesting life, who loved to laugh and was always smiling. My sympathy to the family as he will be missed however you can take comfort in a life well lived for sure.

Thank you, Jen, for conveying the sad news regarding you father. No matter how prepared we are for this inevitable event it is still very painful. As your mum will attest, Gwen and I enjoyed so much our annual ritual of driving to the Stratford Festival and spending a few days spoiling ourselves at the shows and restaurants.
We also tried to emulate your wonderful family that we so greatly respected and admired. Tony is now a memory but a very happy one at that. George (Rogan)

I miss you after so many years of friendship with you at the Annunciation Church. As a fellow lectors in the weekday morning mass and coffee buddies at the Parkway Mall McDonald’s. God has put you, Jim and I together!
You were the best story teller that I know, telling us about your WW2 experience, your engineering projects and family. You live a good life. You are a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather!
All good things come to an end. You will continue to live in our memory, for generations. 🙏🙏🙏
