elevated 3lnxb It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Maria De Lourdes Gouveia. Maria was a beloved wife to Oliverio Gouveia, loving mother to Elizabeth, Sandra, Nelson, Michelle, and a caring and devoted grandmother to Andrew, Matthew, Justin, Marcia, Jessica, Manuel, Grayson and Cameron.
elevated 3lnxb Maria was born in Sao Miguel Island, Portugal, in the small town of Agua de Pau on June 26th, 1949. She grew up with 5 siblings and her parents Jose Madeira and Maria Odelia. She made her way to Canada at the age of 18 to begin her new life. Shortly after immigrating to Canada she returned to Portugal to marry the man she would spend the rest of her life with, Oliverio. After their wedding they returned to Canada and started their family in 1971. Both Maria and Oliverio ran a very successful business and made a comfortable life for their four children in Mississauga Ontario.
elevated 3lnxb Later in life, Maria enjoyed travelling, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was an amazing, strong, and hard working woman. These traits live on through her children and grandchildren as she taught them many important life skills and traditions. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated during this time of sorrow.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families at this very difficult time. She was a wonderful person I will miss her very much May she rest in peace.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Maria’s passing. As Cecilia’s oldest son, I have such fond memories of visiting São Miguel when we were younger. Those times were filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Maria’s strength, kindness, and dedication have left a lasting impression on all of us. I am also grateful to have such amazing cousins—Elizabeth, Sandra, Nelson, and Michelle—who continue to embody the love and values their mother instilled in them. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time.
Our condolences to the family so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Love Val and Debbie
