elevated DzxN4 Obituary
elevated DzxN4 It is with deeply saddened hearts that we share the news that Elvira Ferrer passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital surrounded by her family on January 14, 2025.
elevated DzxN4 Born October 23, 1943 in the Philippines to the late Fidel and Candelaria Supleo, she is survived and dearly missed by her husband of 57 years Carlos; their four children Christian, Frederick, Audrey, and Sharon and their respective partners Masami, Genie, Je Hark, and Todd; and their precious grandchildren Jacob, Caitlin, Jocelyn, Ohanna, Jace, Eleyna, Miriyan, and Jiselle.
elevated DzxN4 Elvira met her soulmate at the tender age of 22 while volunteering for the Legion of Mary in Manila. Their relationship solidified during the time she was working at San Miguel Corporation, where Elvira broke through the “glass ceiling” in being the first female programmer hired by the company. They have been inseparable ever since, displaying their love for one another through travelling the world, entertaining family and friends, and raising their children. Although a highly qualified programmer, Elvira sacrificed this career path by taking on clerical jobs and working as a technical writer in order to leave her enough time to return home every night to nurture her family with compassion and patience. Carlos strongly affirms that it was this sacrifice alone that allowed him to pursue his own successful career. Her dedication served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
elevated DzxN4 Elvira enjoyed organizing and participating in many events for community and charitable organizations, including the Legion of Mary, coordinating Novenas for the Immaculate Conception, and volunteering for the Pastoral Care Team at Merciful Redeemer Parish in Mississauga. She would give of her time every Saturday morning to provide pastoral care in the nursing home, only ending this commitment after becoming ill with cancer. Thank you to the team at Credit Valley Hospital for their compassion and tenderness while helping to care for Elvira during her final week.
elevated DzxN4 In her spare time, Elvira enjoyed learning about and cooking new dishes, relaxing on the couch while listening to oldies and jazz, and cheering on her favourite sports teams and athletes. Elvira’s greatest joy however, was becoming a grandma and spending time playing and singing with her many grandchildren. Elvira will be dearly missed by her family, and leaves behind an abundance of stories and memories that will be forever cherished. While her passing will be deeply felt by many, her life will be joyously remembered and long celebrated by all who were blessed to have shared in it.
Dear Elvie,
We will miss your friendly and cheerful smile each time we meet.
RIP Elvie!
It is a great pleasure to meet you Elvie for a short period of time. I will never forget your friendly and cheerful smile.
Now no more pains as you meet our Creator in heaven
Rest in peace ! You will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Ate Elvie.
Elvie – I will always remember as a kind, caring and tender person through good and rough times. Always saw the positive and a great listener. A very good cook too! I will miss you and will be in my prayers
To Elvie’s Family, especially to Caloy, please accept my sincere sympathy.
I thank God for having had the opportunity to know Elvie, through the zoom novenas since the pandemic; and our friendship got better over the years, especially when we spoke over the phone recently, after our common friend, the late Cynthia Sison, passed away on September 6, 2024. It was around that time when Elvie called me to discuss the online prayers she was setting up with Caloy for the novena prayers for Cynthia. Elvie shared with me her strong faith and her medical situation fighting this cancer illness. She made me proud when she said she’s embracing her cross and was ready when the Lord calls her name. Since then, I’ve been praying for her recovery. I now feel confident that the angels happily welcomed Elvie in heaven. May she rest in peace.
I will miss your gorgeous smile and riveting conversation every time I bring the Divina Pastora to your house.
No more pains Elvie and enjoy listening to the choirs of angels ready to lift you up to the eternal kingdom of God.

Gina and I will always have fond memories of the wonderful dinners and gatherings that we shared with Elvie, Carlos and our ‘gang’. When it was Elvie’s turn to host our gathering, we knew we would be in for a delicious meal. Among other special dishes, Elvie made the best lumpia. We will always remember Elvie as a kind and generous dear friend.
Carlos, my deepest condolences go out to you and your family. Elvie’s smile, warmth, compassion, and friendship were gifts to us all. Her memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we hold dear. She will be forever remembered and forever missed.
Carlos, you and Elvie are in my prayers. Rest in peace Elvie.
