elevated rf5hO It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Reyes (“Rocio”), a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on January 20th, 2025. She passed away peacefully, in the embrace of her daughters, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, strength, and grace.

elevated rf5hO Born on January 12, 1958 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Rocio lived a life filled with devotion and unwavering love. She dedicated her life to her family, and the impact of her love and care was felt by all, and forever in our hearts. 

elevated rf5hO Rocio was a source of strength and comfort, known for her warm smile, love of dance, and sweet tooth. 

elevated rf5hO Her greatest joy came from her family. She was a loving wife to Manuel Reyes. Loving daughter to her mother Mercedes Lara and the late Victor Chong-Qui, and a exemplary sister. Above all, she was a devoted mother to Michelle and Lorena, and her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, Alexandria, Elios, Olympia, Lukas and Michaela who will always carry her wisdom and warmth in their hearts.

elevated rf5hO Though her loss leaves a void that cannot be filled, her memory will forever shine bright in the lives she touched.

elevated rf5hO A celebration of Rocio’s life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Rd. E., Thornhill) on Sunday, January 26, 2025, between 2 – 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel of St. Joseph: Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

elevated rf5hO In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Toronto Grace Health Centre in her honor, where Maria was lovingly cared for during her last weeks.
