elevated 2ZixY October 9, 1949 – January 31, 2025
elevated 2ZixY With deep sorrow, we announce that John Edward Fitzpatrick passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 75.
elevated 2ZixY John was born on October 9, 1949, to Frank and Rose Fitzpatrick in Derry, Northern Ireland. The family of 9 immigrated to Canada before wee Johnny’s 5th birthday and settled in Malton, Ontario shortly thereafter where they became a family of 10.
elevated 2ZixY Affectionately known to many as Uncle John, UJ and most recently Ghonny, he played a critical role in the lives of many members of his large extended family and neighbours. John is predeceased by his parents Frank and Rose Fitzpatrick, along with his brothers Terry and James and sisters Ursula, Kathleen, and Josephine. He is survived by his sister Angela and brother Michael, along with countless nieces and nephews and his partner Lorraine, all of whom he deeply adored.
elevated 2ZixY John had a passion for classic cars, hot rods and building model cars, amassing an impressive collection of kits that never seemed to be complete as he added to it over the years. If he couldn’t find the model he was looking for, he would take parts from different kits to create what he needed. He was an incredible builder and had an eye for detail that was unmatched by most. Whether he was creating custom model cars or working on various projects at home or for family and friends, he was always keeping himself busy throughout most of his life (and if there was ever a tool you needed, you knew who had it).
elevated 2ZixY Some of John’s fondest memories were travelling with his family, especially his trip to Hawaii in early 2020 with his sister Angela; he dreamed and talked about going to Hawaii for many years and that trip surpassed all his expectations and then some.
elevated 2ZixY John will be missed in more ways than we can count and leaves an immeasurable impact on the lives of many.
elevated 2ZixY He did not wish to have a funeral service. The family will receive visitors at the family home on Saturday, February 1st for those who wish to share their condolences.
The most wonderful man, if it wasn’t for you my life would have been lost. Love you fiercely and always.
John was a good person from a strong Irish family. Over the years we had lots of enjoyable conversations while we shared times at Jim & Carolyn’s. Special condolences to Angie & Michael, as well as Lorraine and John’s many nieces and nephews – including Kerri, Kelly, Maura & Neil. ❤️

My deepest condolences all the family. I’m so saddened and surprised to hear of John’s passing. He seemed so well last time we met in Delmar, at his brother’s passing. I loved seeing him at all the family get togethers in Delmar. My family and I remember him as always so kind, and as having such a good sense of humour and wit. We will keep him in our prayers.
So Very Sorry ! I just found out about this. John was a kind and lovable person. He loved his family so much.
I will miss his emails checking on my brother Rick.
My deepest condolences to the Family . John you will always be remember.
My deepest condolences to the Family. I started working with John in design in 1997 at Corr-A-Box, my father owned the company and brought me on to help with many things but wanted to make sure I had not forgotten what he taught me at a much earlier age. I started working with John in design and he was a great mentor and very knowledgeable. He taught me a lot more and had great patience. He was a very kind and giving man and shared many family stories and memories. We had many great conversations over those years. John will always be with me in heart and I am so happy he found happiness and fulfilled some of his wonderful dreams
We were friends of the Fitzpatricks for years.
RIP John
