elevated q14Cn It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ina Maher. Left to carry on without her are Sr. Marie, Denise, Nikki & Mariana, Danielle, Matt & Jamie, Chris & Derek, Vivian, and her extended family.
elevated q14Cn Ina was a devoted family woman while also having successful and rewarding careers as a teacher, an administrator and a lawyer. She was loved and respected by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
elevated q14Cn Ina was a woman of very strong faith, which carried her through the tougher times in her life. We trust that she has been reunited with her parents, Hector and Carmelita, in a better place where there is no pain, suffering, anxiety or sorrow.

Ina was our wonderful neighbour from 1997 until 2023. Always smiling and friendly. We met many times and she was always a warm positive light. She was especially supportive of our young son giving him gifts at Christmas and other occasions. Our sincerest condolences to the family and to her faithful friend Vivian. God’s Blessings!!
I wish you all peace and comfort as you grieve the loss of Ina Maher. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
Thank you Veronica
May our Lord grant Ina with eternal life in his Glory, and give her family strength and consolation.
Many nice memories we have from St. Luke’s include Ina, who was a bright and committed collaborator in our Church. Rest in Peace dear Ina!
Thank you Veronica and Luis
I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend and mentor, Ina. I met Ina in law school in early 1990. Her smile brightened the classroom and spread a sense of calm. A testament to her grit and intelligence, Ina seemed to fly through law school, all the while balancing her legal studies with her first priority, her adored children and grandchildren.
Even in times of heavy workloads and reading assignments, when most students were barely awake to add to class discussion, Ina had a thought-provoking question or a story to share to enlighten our learning.
Beyond law school, I, like many others, was blessed by her presence. Endless memories of friendship, faith, kindness, empathy for others, charity, wisdom, and shared celebrations, will keep Ina alive in my heart.
My family and I extend our deepest condolences to Ina’s wonderful family (her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and extended family) and to our long-time and cherished friend, Vivian. May the fond memories of Ina uplift you and give you comfort and strength.
Ina, in God’s loving arms, may you rest in peace.

Denise,
I am so sorry for the passing of your mom. I know that the two of you meant the world to one another. I pray that God’s blessings will ease the pain for all those left behind, and, one way or another, she will continue to walk with you through your life’s journey. She is in God’s hands now, a good place to be.
I’m saddened by Ina’s passing but I’m sure that she’s in a better place.
I often thought of Ina and her parents as I pass by where they used to live at the intersection of Kimberly and Carnavon Road. I pay my respect to Hector and Carmelita whenever I visit St. Michael’s Cemetery.
I will miss Ena’s warm hospitality and the laughters we shared at her home. She’s usually present at our family dinners when we’re in Toronto. May the loving memories of Ena bring you strength, comfort and peace.
Philippians 3:20-21
20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Thanks Brian & Millie
Ina, um céu repleto de alegrias e paz !
Ficam conosco as boas lembranças e o carinho da família brasileira.
Tim and I fondly remember our many visits with Ina (in Canada, Florida and the Bahamas), the trips we took together (Nova Scotia, PEi, Quebec), the many meals we shared and conversations around the dinner table and in her living room. We enjoyed her wit, sense of humor, generosity and thoughtfulness. She always put her family and others before herself. She did not have a mean bone in her body! Everyone who met Ina loved and respected her. May she rest in peace.
Dear Nikki, Denise, Vivienne, grandchildren and great grandchild,
Phil and I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to your family during this incredibly difficult time. Ina was such a great woman—an inspiration to all who knew her and a true friend. She opened her heart and her door for so many moments of laughter, breaking bread together, and deep, meaningful conversations.
I will miss her dearly, and she will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Rest easy, Ina. You will never be forgotten.
With love and sympathy,
