elevated nbVJs Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services – Archdiocese of Toronto is currently looking for a Receptionist to join our team at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill, Ontario. Reporting directly to the Cemetery Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for greeting and directing families and/or visitors both in person and on the phone, providing general reception duties and performing administrative duties as required.
elevated nbVJs DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answering all incoming phone calls, determining the purpose of the call and directing to the appropriate staff.
- Greeting and directing families and visitors.
- Providing information on services and cemetery by-laws to funeral homes and families as required.
- Managing and updating the schedule for multiple Meeting Rooms.
- Providing administrative support to ensure accuracy of records and documentation. This will include but not limited to: typing, data entry, filing and collating of materials.
- Sorting and distributing incoming mail and ensure outgoing mail and courier packages are processed in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the general housekeeping duties of common areas such as the Reception area and Meeting Rooms.
- Supporting CCFS with special event days.
- Providing administrative assistance on special projects or on a needed basis.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as determined by the Cemetery Manager.
elevated nbVJs KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Customer service oriented.
- Strong time management, administrative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Previous receptionist experience preferred.
- Completion of a High School diploma or greater is required.
