elevated bs9p2 ALBERT CHARLES GAREL was born on July 22, 1935. He died peacefully at home on October 23, 2022, with his family by his side. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He was survived by his loving wife Patricia (Nee Chung), daughters Karena Lim, Sabrina de Ala, Sue-Ann Garel-Gajraj, and son Michael Garel. He was a beloved father-in-law to Frank Lim, Romell de Ala, Syed Gajraj and Lindsay Garel. Albert will also be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Allison, Isaiah, Caleb, Siena, Evan, Jayden, Nicholas and Christopher.
elevated bs9p2 Albert Garel was born in Kingston, Jamaica and came from a family of thirteen where he grew up with values of faith, family, honesty, and helping others. He was an intellectual who always strived toward higher learning. He completed his Masters at Harvard and his PhD at Columbia University. Albert’s philosophy was “always read books to achieve a deeper understanding and awareness of one’s self, including one’s relationship with God”.
elevated bs9p2 Albert and Patricia raised their own family instilling these same values. They moved to Canada in 1975 where he enjoyed a long career as a psychologist, developing and implementing programs to serve the community. I will miss Al. May the Lord rest his soul in peace.
May he rest in peace in God’s eternal light and love, and may cherished memories of times shared with him warm the hearts of family and friends and comfort them in their grief.
Uncle Albert has always had a special spot in my heart. He has had a profound influence on me.
I met Al at a couple of Catholic seminars back home in Jamaica. We shared the same Catholic faith and both loved the Lord. May he Rest In Peace as he enters the heavenly kingdom.
I remember Uncle Albert giving me my first job in High School working at Times Store
We always remember your humbleness and smiles uncle Albert. May God grant you an eternal and peaceful resting place. Our sincere condolences and prayers to Sue, Syed, aunty Patricia and the rest of the family. May God give you the strength and courage at this sad time.
Uncle Albert will remain always in my heart with many fond memories in our homeland, Jamaica. Rest peacefully good & faithful servant.🙏🏻🌹
I regrettably never had the pleasure of meeting Al, but when his wife, my cousin Patricia, said in her understated way, “You would love Al. He’s really a good guy.”; I needed no convincing that he was a man of stellar character and demeanor. God has called him to Higher 🙏🏽Service for his “Well Done Thou Good & Faithful Servant; Enter into thy Rest.” We will meet him again, one day, by Faith, at the throne of God.💖
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. His work on earth lives on in his family and now, he will continue to help from the next life, forever.
It was a pleasure to have met Al. He was so kind and thoughtful and he will be surely missed. May he rest in peace.
My dear Brother Albert and Loving Uncle will surely be missed. We have many Dear Memories of him especially his Beautiful SMILE and Soft Spoken Voice. May GOD hold You Close, Comfort You Gently, and Carry You Through to HIM. With our Deepest Condolences Love and Prayers. Rest In Peace my Brother. 🙏🏽🙏🏽➕💖🌹
Uncle Albert was like a father to me and my siblings. He gave me away at my wedding. I wil treasure my memories of him forever. RiP Uncle Albert
I worked for AL at the D.A.R.E. Centre in Etobicoke, first as a Humber College Student then as a co-worker from 1996 until his retirement in early 2000. As my mentor he taught me so much . AL was the most kindest and sincere man I ever met, I watched Al show this kindness to every client he came in contact with. He truly was loved by all at the centre. I really don’t think I’ll ever met such a person with his qualities ever again. Wish I had of known AL and I would have been at your service. Just keep on doing what you always said to me at the Centre. ” let’s just keep on doing like we know what we’re doing .
Miss you Buddy,, Rest in Peace my friend.
Many thanks for all your kind memories. Love & Blessings!!
