It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alex on October 16, 2024, with his wife and family by his side. Alex was born on August 13, 1931, in Guangzhou, China. As a young boy, he moved to Hong Kong and, upon graduation, enrolled in the Royal Navy British Overseas Forces. He served in both military and civilian roles for over two decades. After his children were born, Alex transitioned to working as a public servant. He moved to Canada with his family after retirement, and spent his retirement years between Hong Kong and Toronto.

Alex is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Belinda; his children Raymond (Carmen), Serena (Henry), Agatha (Kenric), and Albert; and his grandchildren Charisse, Caleb, Samuel, and Elijah. Alex was a dedicated grandfather, father, brother, and son. He had a great sense of humor and was known for telling captivating stories to his children and grandchildren, as well as for his beautiful singing and whistling, and his great talent in jeopardy. He will be deeply missed by his family.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Mon Sheong Long Term care home, for all of their exceptional care, laughter, and compassion they showed to Alex during his final years, making him feel truly at home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mon Sheong Foundation, or to a charity of personal choice.
