It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alex on October 16, 2024, with his wife and family by his side. Alex was born on August 13, 1931, in Guangzhou, China. As a young boy, he moved to Hong Kong and, upon graduation, enrolled in the Royal Navy British Overseas Forces. He served in both military and civilian roles for over two decades. After his children were born, Alex transitioned to working as a public servant. He moved to Canada with his family after retirement, and spent his retirement years between Hong Kong and Toronto.
Alex is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Belinda; his children Raymond (Carmen), Serena (Henry), Agatha (Kenric), and Albert; and his grandchildren Charisse, Caleb, Samuel, and Elijah. Alex was a dedicated grandfather, father, brother, and son. He had a great sense of humor and was known for telling captivating stories to his children and grandchildren, as well as for his beautiful singing and whistling, and his great talent in jeopardy. He will be deeply missed by his family.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Mon Sheong Long Term care home, for all of their exceptional care, laughter, and compassion they showed to Alex during his final years, making him feel truly at home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mon Sheong Foundation, or to a charity of personal choice.
Mon Sheong Tribute Giving:
Uncle Alex,
Rest in peace!
主懷安息!
With great sadness, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Uncle Alex, whom we fondly remember as Kwong Chue Ko Ko, the kindergarten best friend of my late father Chen Ting Yeung. My mother recounts Uncle as a good person, kind and caring to his mother, wife and family. We are grateful that Kwong Chue Ko Ko had a long life and had been blessed with having his family and grandchildren around him. Whilst we will miss Uncle dearly, we wish him and all of you peace with the Lord in heaven. We will make a donation to the nursing home as suggested. God be with you all, Kit Lui, Denise, Martin and Patrick from Australia
