elevated QSsQ2 January 31, 1929 – October 17, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce his passing on October 17 2023, peacefully with his family by his side. He was a strong, passionate family Man, who through his courage and tenacity, made a wonderful life for himself and his family. He was born in Banffe , Croatia to his mother Genovefa and his father Gabrielle Novak. Survived by his loving wife of 71 years Anna, his daughter, Irene (Bruce) and his granddaughters, Elizabeth (Steve) and Sarah (Chris). Also part of our family are Alyson (Steve). His greatest joy were his grandchildren and his great grandchildren Hannah ,Hazel, Ashton, Tessa and Evan.
A strong man who withered away so quickly but is no longer suffering.
He was a man’s man who had so much strength and courage to withstand all that he went through, from the war as a teenager forced to fight, his escape from communism, his work camp in Austria, his wish for a better life and the ocean trip to Canada with Anna . With no money, no language he forged a beautiful life for his family. He travelled extensively with Anna, they both enjoyed so many vacations and memories. A generous man who knew how to save and make the most of everything and share his knowledge and insights .
Rest in peace and know you are loved so much and will be missed immensely!
