With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected, yet peaceful passing of Angela Conetta on March 27, 2025. She is survived by her brother Gerry (Corinne), sister Linda (Michael), brother Philip (Susan), and her beloved nieces and nephews, Tara, Allison (Jamie), Giancarlo (Sarah) Micaela (Mark) and Marco (Chelsea) and her grand niece Ashlynn. and grand nephews Justice and Dominic. She joins her late mother (Fay), father (Tino), brother (Tino), niece (Mariella) and grand nephew (Abel).
elevated 8lHNA Angela spent 36 remarkable years as a math teacher at Chaminade College school. As a trailblazing educator, Angela was the first female teacher in an all-boys’ school, where she inspired generations of students as a beloved teacher and mentor. Angela’s legacy is built on her unwavering commitment to her students, colleagues, and community. Her selflessness, humility, and kindness inspired all who knew her, earning her the respect and admiration of everyone she touched. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom. During her career at Chaminade, Angela wore many hats: student council moderator, grade 9 orientation leader, acting head of mathematics, TSU staff representative, organizer of the Chaminade annual basketball invitation, MC for the sports banquet, prom moderator, MST New York trip organizer, supervisor of school dances and graduation committee just to name a few. Her love for her students was evident in every role she played, and her influence helped shape careers and ensured success for those in her care.
elevated 8lHNA In retirement, Angela continued to thrive in her new-found community of fellow residents at her East York condo. She engaged in activities she loved, from playing bid euchre and joining a quiz team to participating in a book club. Her commitment to her community was evident in her election to the condo board, a testament to her friendliness, leadership and dedication.
elevated 8lHNA Upon retirement, Angela joined the Rendezvous branch of the Retired Teachers Organization and became Assistant Goodwill Convenor for several years, sending birthday cards with thoughtful, hand-written messages to members. During COVID, she helped send Christmas cards to all the members as a way for the club to stay in touch.
elevated 8lHNA Above all, Angela’s love for her family was boundless. She cherished every moment spent with her siblings, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Angela deeply enjoyed hosting and coordinating family holiday gatherings, which were always filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Angela’s family was her greatest joy, and we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created with them.
elevated 8lHNA Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones and the community she served with such dedication. Her love, guidance, and inspiration will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, compassion, and purpose.
elevated 8lHNA Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Road East Thornhill, Ontario). Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mass to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Joseph which is located within the funeral home, and a celebration of life reception will be held from 2:15 till 4:15 p.m. In a private ceremony at a later date, Angela will be cremated and laid to rest with her beloved mother.

Rest in peace Ms. Conetta. Thank you for all your hard work and inspiration. You taught my dad at the beginning of your career, and then myself near the end. You will be missed! My condolences to the family.
I had the privilege of working with Angela st Chaminade. She was unwavering in her support to students and colleagues. She was a great educator. Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss.
Ms. Conetta turned me around in Grade 12 (’88/’89). My marks began to improve, and I went on to do well after high school partly thanks to her inspiring influence. I remember her as always smiling and caring. She knew how to teach and you could tell she loved it. I’m profoundly saddened to learn her light has gone out here, but equally certain it is still shining bright somewhere, and everywhere, for all whom she touched.
I offer my deepest condolences for the sad passing of Angela. I was VP at Chaminade when Angela taught Math and what a great teacher she was. Angela taught with dedication and the belief that all students would have success. I will pray for her eternal rest and for peace to be Angela and her family.
We will miss Angela greatly.
I had the privilege to work with Angela at Chaminade from 2001 until her retirement. I’m not sure she knew just how much of a mentor and inspiration she was to me at the start of my career. I will always remember her humor, dedication to her students and high expectations. Year after year, our students hoped and prayed to be in her math class knowing she would do everything in her power to make them succeed. My condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Ms. Conetta will always have a special place in my heart. I had the pleasure of being taught by her in both Grade 9 and Grade 12 Math. She was always understanding and patient with me, and never hesitated to help when she knew I was struggling. I was going into the final exam with a failing mark, and she offered to pass me as long as I got a passing grade on the exam. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.
I studied harder than I ever had before, and thanks to her encouragement and support, I passed the exam—and graduated Grade 12.

You were one of the greatest teacher I’ve ever had. I still tell people about how much you helped not just myself but everyone. Cham wasn’t an easy place to teach at times but we had so much respect for you. Not a day passed when you weren’t sitting at your desk after school helping someone be better. Not just math. I’ll never forget that dedication you had to us and I can only try to be half as amazing as you were with my own students. Thank you. Rest in peace.
RIP, My aunt Anita just passed away and I was looking at the obituaries and seeing Miss Conetta name intrigued me and yes, she was my math teacher at Cham. RIP and my condolences to the family!

Ms. Conetta impacted a multitude of students during her time at Chaminade. Her commitment to learning excellence was unwavering. For those of us who were lucky enough to have her a teacher, she helped shape our future.
I am forever grateful for her generosity.

Ms. Conetta was my Grade 12 math teacher. Even though I was failing math horribly, she said that as long as I try my best on the exam and got a passing grade, I’d pass the course. I ended up (barely) passing and she kept her word.
As a result of this, I was able to graduate on time and attend the program of my choosing. This was just over 10 years ago and I still remember the conversation after the fact as if it were yesterday. To this day I still talk to family and friends about Ms. Conetta and her willingness to believe in me and other students.
Thank you Ms. Conetta for setting me up for success. You will never be forgotten.
