elevated O0r2c Obituary
elevated O0r2c Antoine Eid Abouatallah was born on January 10, 1930.
elevated O0r2c His early life was one filled with happy memories of being with his family and friends, fishing and swimming in the sea. He regaled with tales of an ancient walled city, within which neighbours lived and worked together in harmony.
elevated O0r2c Antoine’s destiny was to move across many borders, first to his native Lebanon where he met his beloved wife Jamila. They started a family while living in the Gulf, and eventually made their way with their two sons — first to Greece and then to Canada.
elevated O0r2c A proud Lebanese-Canadian, Antoine adopted his new country and its way of life. His entire career in Canada was spent as head accountant for a large national company. He was known never to miss a day of work, and was always on time. Always. His love of numbers was a passion; until very recently, his family had difficulty supplying him with enough sudoku books to keep him occupied.
elevated O0r2c Antoine lived his Christian faith every day of his life. He dedicated his existence to his family and to God. He exemplified what it means to live for others, and his family is devastated by this massive loss.
elevated O0r2c Antoine is predeceased by his mother Katrina and father Eid, by his dear sister Abla (Emile) and by the love of his life, his wife Jamila. He will be missed terribly by his devoted sons, Joe (Miranda) and Ziad (Lyanne); his precious grandchildren Colline, Nicole and Michael; his adoring brother Elias (Soumaya); his nieces Rita (Tony) and Katy (Steve), and nephews Hani (Susan), Nabil (Mary) and Michel (the late Cathy); and his many grand nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
elevated O0r2c Antoine’s family would like to thank the team of caregivers who assisted us in providing him with dignity and happiness at home, and to Dr. Caplan who guided us the entire way. Rest in Peace, Baba. Allah yerhamak.
