elevated l8UNN Obituary

elevated l8UNN God called Antonia Monteleone home peacefully on December 6, 2024, at 78. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Monteleone and a caring, devoted mother to Agostino, Domenico (Nadia), Agnese, and Vincenzina (Adis). Antonia took immense pride in being a grandmother to Isabella, Francesca, Bernadette, Gabriel, and Lucas, showering them with love and affection. She is now reunited in heaven with her cherished parents, Domenico and Vincenzina De Giorgio, along with her dear sister, Caterina, and brother, Nicola.

elevated l8UNN Antonia was born in beautiful Torre De Ruggerio, Calabria, Italy, on June 13, 1946. She was born into a large family consisting of 8 siblings whom she cared for deeply. She made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada in 1964 to join her husband, and together, they crafted a nurturing and loving family. Her warmth, strength, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of so many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

elevated l8UNN Passionate about her flower and vegetable gardens, Antonia spent countless hours tending to her plants, which flourished under her loving care. Even in the face of health challenges, she maintained a spirited nature and a delightful sense of humour that brightened every room she entered. Her generous heart and warm smile left an indelible mark on those around her, especially her beloved grandchildren. Antonia thrived on hosting family gatherings and events, where her exceptional cooking was always a highlight!

elevated l8UNN Everyone who crossed paths with her felt like they gained a true friend, someone who uplifted spirits, made people laugh, and fostered a deep sense of belonging. Her kindness extended to her final moments, reminding us all of the love she shared so effortlessly.

elevated l8UNN The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the caring nurses and doctors at Vaughan Hospice, who ensured Antonia’s final days were filled with comfort and peace.

elevated l8UNN In honour of Antonia’s loving spirit, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause close to her heart. She will forever live in our memories and hearts.
