elevated f2JHx Bridget Eta Rice (nee Melody) passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 27, 2020 in her home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born January 10th, 1927 in Clooncah, Co. Galway, Ireland to John Melody & Margaret (Ruane) Melody. Eta nourished people around her in faith and love and was a Nurse in both London, England, and the United States before moving to Toronto and working at Northwestern Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband Malachy, sons Michael & Paul, daughter in-law Christine, daughters Denise & Adrienne, her grandchildren Maeve, Kate & Iain, brother Padraig (Pa) Melody, sisters-in-law Anna & Mary Jo Melody, and her dear nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Saturday July 4th, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home at 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis’ Table 1322 Queen Street W., Toronto.
We are all so sad to hear of our lovely Aunt Eta’s passing. We have lovely memories of her many visits home to Ireland. We are thinking of Malachy, Paul, Denise, Michael and Adrienne and her grandchildren at this very sad time, may she RIP
Eta was a wonderful aunt, with a profound faith and commitment to family. Our visits were always filled with story-telling and much laughter. I will cherish these memories dearly and forever hold her close in my heart.
