Go Leafs Go !!
Thoughts and prayers go out to the Sposato family
As the ultimate Leafs fan, Bruno would routinely spar with me about being a Red Wings fan. How are the “dead things?” he’d ask virtually every time we saw each other. That would initiate a barrage of friendly insults about the other’s favourite team.
His smile was infectious, his friendliness, unparalleled.
Bruno, you demonstrated the finest qualities of humanity and are an example to the rest of us.
I hope to one day shake your hand in heaven and thank you for being you.
So sorry to hear of your passing. Bruno you will be missed at the arena’s in Richmond Hill. I was honored to have met you. Will never forget you warm smile and your cheers for every team in Richmond Hill. Rest in peace.
Hugs and happy thoughts.
Dear Coach Bruno,
With a heavy heart I write this today about my friend and coaching partner, Bruno. Roughly 12 years ago I met this amazing man during my first year with the RHHA. My daughter was one of only three girls playing at the time. I had the luck of her being placed with the team, Joseph Sposato and Dylan Lansing played on. From the moment I met him it was obvious his love of the game was as big as the universe. Words cannot express the impact he had on me over many years being in the rink with him. He was always there for me on the bench and was truly loved by so many hockey players. Over the last 4 years he was by my side as my Asst. coach for the Bantam and Midget teams. I was so happy when I presented him with his coaching jacket, never was anyone so dissevering of it. Every weekend I would go and pick him up to go to our games. To my family he was family. He wasn’t just a part of the RHHA, He was the greatest volunteer, coach, supporter that I have know in 30 years of being involved in hockey. I will miss his phone calls every week and when he would leave a message it was always the same. ” Hi Coach its Bruno, what time is the game? Call me.. GO Leafs GO. He will never leave my thoughts or my heart. Love you Coach.
Scott R. Mullen

I had the pleasure of establishing a relationship with you Bruno through the years of my youth hockey, coaching, and officiating careers. Bruno was truly the number one fan for all of us. I vividly remember all the years you stood by every child’s side on picture day, and all the smiles put on our faces as officials when we showed up to the rink and even finished off a tough game. You will be deeply missed Bruno and I am sure the local Richmond Hill Hockey community will be playing for you for many years to come.
To The Sposato Family. My Deepest and Most Sincere Condolences on the Loss of A Very Special Man.
We spent many times together as children when you lived on Mortimer. My Dad also kept in touch with Zio Joe, and his Family. Life then takes us on different paths, and far away from each other, but I like to believe that always close at heart.

My deepest condolences to the sposato family.
If you lived in Richmond hill you knew Bruno, especially if you played hockey. When my hockey friends would talk about him, I would always proudly say that he is my cousin.
I wish I could have spent more time with you, we always had a good time together. And there was always a story to tell afterwards.
Bruno, So many memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
From watching joe Catania trying to rip off a guys helmet on the ice, to picking up chicks at WEGZ.
but one memory that stands out was the time we went to the hockey game. While we were there we were getting phone calls from John Rigitano that he saw us on the Tv
I remember taking the subway home and we hear “next stop college st., next stop college st.”
I said we should go see nonno fortunato and nonna Carolina.
And of course off we went.
We got lost and ended up at Bathurst and college.
So we walked all the way to Bellwood’s.
By the time we got there the lights were out, it was 11pm, they go to sleep at 7
We both looked at each other and laughed.
I’m going to miss you, and the memories you gave me will forever be in my heart.
REST IN PEACE BRUNO.
Now go Talk to the hockey gods and get the leafs a Stanley cup.
“Weefs” “go leafs go!”

His gentle soul will always be remembered with fond memories.
Joe, Silvia and Lilly Polito.
Where do I begin. I first met Bruno when I was about 8 years old. He watched a lot of us grow up into the people we are today. I wish my boys had the opportunity to meet him and have him cheer for them as he cheered for me.
I’m sure my teammates and friends would agree with me when I say that having Bruno in our corner always made us play harder. He embodied the purest of souls. I saw a comment by Mario talking about always having Bruno behind us when we came off the ice after reffing a tough game. Having at least 1 fan in stands while we reffed made a world of difference.
I could go on and on about Bruno and his unconditional love and support. You have impacted us all in the most positive of ways. I know my dad will miss your weekly chats. I’m thankful to have had the chance to know you.
Rest in Peace my friend. We will forever miss you.
With Love: Chris, Cynthia, Carter and Cruiz Russo

Maurizio, Josie, Sergio, and Dante.
It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone you love. It is even more difficult when that person is considered family. And that is what Bruno was….Family to everyone from Novice player, to Coach and everyone in between. I have known Bruno for so many years. He was there to cheer on my kids when they played hockey, and when they became ref’s and timekeepers. Bruno and I spent many hours in the timebox together. He was my greatest company on all those cold winter nights. If a fight broke out, he would raise his arms and say “it’s not my fault” and I would jokingly throw him out. He always had a big smile on his face. He was always happy and positive, such a beautiful soul. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. I am so grateful he was part of my life. Richmond Hill Rinks and timeboxes will never be the same without him. We will never be the same without him! My deepest heart felt condolences to everyone in his family. Rest in peace Bruno, we love you dearly!!
Carmela, Robert, Christina, Alessandro Campagna
A true inspiration to any hockey player that walked through any arena door around Richmond Hill from Elgin barrow to Elvis Stojiko. When you saw Bruno as you entered, you knew it was going to be a good game.
To Bruno and his family, our hearts and sympathies are with you in this difficult time. May Bruno rest in peace and god bless him and his family.
Our deepest condolences to the entire Sposato family.
We are saddened to hear about Bruno’s passing.
May he Rest In Peace.
Xo
Our sincerest condolences to the entire family. We are very sorry for your loss.
I crossed paths with Bruno in many places, at hockey, baseball, work, dance and in the neighborhood. Every time I saw he would ask me about my family and how they were doing and then talk about the leafs. He had a way to make to make a tough day or game good just by sharing a few words and with his genuine smile.
He will truly be missed. It will be very difficult to walk down the halls of the arena or sit in the refs room and not hear his voice.
Rest in Peace my friend!
Though I have not seen him in many years, I still remember the happiness and kindness Bruno would bring into a room. Really, he was a great guy and a role model for all.
My deepest condolences to his family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
May Bruno’s memory be a blessing.
Sending you all our deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one. We will always remember Bruno’s big beautiful smile and his love for the Leafs! May he Rest In Peace.
Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Like many who have shared condolences, I knew Bruno through Richmond Hill hockey. As a timekeeper, I was so fortunate to get to interact with him as he watched the Stars/Coyotes from the stands and timekeeper box. He had an infectious smile, would always greet you with “GO LEAFS GO!”, ask about family, and was just an all-around pure soul. I’ll never forget bringing my laptop to the rink and streaming the Leafs game so he could cheer on the Leafs and Stars at the same time. He was a fixture in the rinks. Richmond Hill hockey will never be the same. Sposato family, may you find comfort in the many cherished, fond memories of your beloved Bruno.
I am so saddened to learn about Bruno’s passing. On the occasion that I would see him, I always remember how kind and sincere he was to others. He had an endearing innocence about him and always greeted you with the biggest smile. My deepest condolences go out to his family. Sending you my love and prayers.

To the entire Family, Our sincere sympathies to you all…
It has been many years since you were my neighbors on Duncan Rd.
However, I have never forgotten you all or Bruno. He had a unique sense of kindness – always made the time to say hello and have a conversation. Over the years, I’ve run into him from time to time and he always asked about everyone, and how we are all doing.
My husband and I were so sad to hear of Bruno’s passing.
May you find peace and comfort in the days to come through all your fond memories of Bruno.
May Bruno rest in peace.
Liliana and Massimo Muzzone
When my son Daniel called to let us know Bruno had passed away my wife Barb and I just sat and cried. I know people use the term, ‘One of a kind’, Bru truly was that! For years you would see Bruno, a fixture at the arena and if you didn’t, you heard a clear loud cry, “Mmweep!” In my case it was, “Lanny”. because of the moustache! He loved the fact the boys, referees, were taking him out for a pop so he didn’t need a ride home that night. Hearing he had got through health issues earlier just made you smile knowing you would hopefully see him soon. This terrible pandemic has taken precious life from families and friends and Bruno has now become one of them. With heart felt sorrow we saw so long for now Bruno not goodbye my friend. All the love and support we can give to your family through this tough time. I hope we have an opportunity to commemorate the life and times of this gentle, infectious soul as time goes forward. Would be like a ray of sunshine in this mad, mad mixed up world we live in these days! Thank you for letting me share a little of what was a great friendship with this young man!
I was lucky enough to meet and befriend Bruno just like all of you but I also had the pleasure on a few occasions to give Bruno and Carm a ride home. The very first time, I asked him his address and he said” don’t worry, you’ll see the flags. Sure enough, I did. He would hop in the passenger seat and tell me turn left, turn right. As we pulled up he sat right here. Opening the door he would always say thanks and wave as he went in the house. I’ll miss those moments.
