elevated wNkaM With heartfelt sadness, our family announces the peaceful passing of Carmela “Carmie” Palermo (nee Carfagnini) in Toronto, July 11, 2021 in her home at the age of 84. She will now be reunited with the love of her life, John. Loving mother of Marc (Cindy), Louanne, and Loretta (Thomas). Proud grandmother of Christopher and Danielle. Predeceased by parents, Enrico and Ida Carfagnini, and brother Anthony (Dolores). Survived by sisters Rosemarie (Rocky) and Theresa (the late Carmen). She was a loving sister in law of the late Michael, Frank (Marcia) and the late Victor (Gail). A special thank you to Gail for all her support during this difficult time. Carmie was a fantastic cook, known for her famous meatballs, lasagna and beef tenderloin. She also enjoyed golf, tennis and travelling. She spent many Januarys in Florida, and had the “trip of a lifetime” in Italy with John in her younger years. She loved socializing with her many dear friends and family, who will miss her kind, caring and generous spirit. We would also like to thank Sheena, her caregiver who helped her through the last year.

Love you forever and always grandma, our angel watching over us 💕
I will miss my sister-in-law and friend so much. I have many wonderful memories of cooking, spending time at our cottage and our trip to Italy together. We always had lots of fun! She will be at peace now! 💗💗
We will miss our dear Auntie Carm. I will never forget the super fun pool parties at her house and her delicious crustoli at Grandma’s Christmas parties when I was a child. The Palermo Christmas party will never be the same without her initiating the “Jingle Bells” song. She will remain in our hearts forever! Love you and rest in peace Auntie Carm xo
Our heartfelt condolences . We are saddened to hear of Carmela’s passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
A sad day here on earth but a happy one in Heaven for sure……Auntie Carmie was a kind soul always…..I always looked forward to seeing her on Christmas Eve. It won’t be quite the same without her welcoming Santa into the room……
Auntie Carmie was always someone I looked forward to seeing at the family gatherings. She was kind, caring and was always happy to see everyone.
My sincerest condolences go out to Marc, Louanne, Loretta, Chris, Danielle, and the entire Palermo family.
I am thinking of you all and holding you close to my heart ❤️
Auntie Carmie was always so caring and kind. She always asked me how I was doing every time I saw her. We will miss her smile and positive attitude. Thinking of everyone during this time. May her memory be a blessing.
My sincerest condolences to all of Carmie’s loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I could not have asked for a better Mother in Law and Grandmother to Chris and Danielle. We were all very lucky to have had her in our lives. Have many fond memories of all the special occasions and her fabulous cooking. Carmie had a way of making everyone feel special. May she rest in peace.
My sincerest condolences to everyone in the family.
Heaven has gained an angel. Auntie Carmie was a sweetheart with a gentle spirit and kind heart. She was always interested in my family and never forgot to remind me of the telegram that she and Uncle Johnny received on their honeymoon announcing my birth. She always started the carols at the Palermo Christmas party and loved getting together with her family. May you Rest In Peace Auntie Carmie. We will all miss you.
My condolences to the family. She was a wonderful woman
I have so many lovely memories of my dear Aunt Carmie. She was a fun-loving, elegant, kind lady. She took good care of her brother-in-law Michael, my dad, bringing him Easter sausage pie (sometimes not even at Easter!) and Italian dinners during all those years they lived in the same apartment building. I will always smile when I think of her leading the singing of “Santa Claus is coming to town” on Christmas eve. I’m certain she is happy to be reunited with Uncle John, her parents and all her family in heaven. Rest in peace Aunt Carmie — you will live in your family forever. Much love and warm hugs to my cousins Marc, Cindy, Louanne, Loretta, Thomas, Christopher and Danielle. May her memory continue to bring you peace in the coming days. xoxo
