elevated g55oH We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Claude Pio, who ended a hard and courageous battle with cancer on the morning of September 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband and son, loving father and brother, cherished grandfather, cousin and loyal friend.
elevated g55oH Claude lived for the people around him. He celebrated 47 years of a beautiful marriage to the love of his life, Mona, a few days before his passing. He worked tirelessly for his children, Mark and Gracie, and was a constant source of guidance for them. He was an extraordinary grandfather – loving, playful and patient. He is described as a pillar of his extended family and loved to host gatherings for his loved ones to connect. He made his friends feel so welcomed and cherished that they became a part of his family.
elevated g55oH Claude’s adventurous spirit was clear in his love for flying, boating, scuba diving and jet-skiing. His creativity and curiosity drove him to figure out how anything with an engine or a current worked. He loved a good project – he could plan, design and build just about anything! Some examples include building his own small boat that he took his family out in, his parents’ basement and a bar in his backyard!
elevated g55oH He is survived by his wife Mona, his son Mark and daughter-in-law Anne, daughter Gracie and son-in-law Brendan, grandchildren Alexandre, Nicholas and Jack, his mother Georgette, his brother Andre and his sister Maria. He is preceded by his father Butrus and brother Alfred.
elevated g55oH May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and grace he so freely gave to others.

Pio family,
I am so sorry to see this news. Claude and I worked together at Wirecard for several years, and kept in touch well after we left there, but I didn’t know he was sick. My sincere hope is that he didn’t suffer and that he has a safe passage. He was a trusted colleague and friend to me, and will be sorely missed.
May his memory always be for a blessing.

I have had the privilege of knowing Claude, and his wonderful family, through his beautiful daughter (and my daughter-in-law) Gracie. This obituary describes Claude beautifully. “He made his friends feel so welcomed and cherished that they became a part of his family.” …is so true. He had a generous heart, he truly embraced life and his spirit was infectious. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. However, each of us have treasured memories of this wonderful man that will be with us forever. My sincere condolences to Mona, Georgette, Mark, Gracie, and his brother, Andre and his sister, Maria, and the entire extended family.
