elevated I1t7Z Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corrado Ferrante at the age of 89 in North York. Corrado is predeceased by his beloved parents Laura (Bruno) and Luigi Ferrante and his siblings Giacomo (Jack), Augusta, and Anna. Survived by his wife, Consiglia, his siblings Fausto, Elmo and Pierina, his children Lou (Maria) and Laura (Chan Ho), grandchildren Michael (Ashley), Stefanie (Tyler), Luca, Chiara, and Carina, and great-grandchildren William, Dominic, John, and Adrian.

elevated I1t7Z Corrado and Consiglia grew up together in San Demetrio nei Vestini (San Giovanni), Abruzzo, Italy. When Corrado was 19 years old, he proposed to Consiglia and maintained a long-distance relationship while he emigrated to Venezuela in pursuit of a better life. Finally, in 1959, Corrado immigrated to Toronto, Canada to marry Consiglia and they started a family shortly thereafter. They loved and were devoted to each other for 64 years. He cherished the large extended family he was a part of and enjoyed the many occasions that enabled them to be all together.

elevated I1t7Z Corrado valued knowledge and education highly. He spoke 3 languages and although formally schooled only until grade 7, he completed multiple higher education courses in his nonnative language. He was a master electrician who held the position many years before he retired. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to work “smarter not harder”.  Up until the end of his life he remained curious, always wanting to learn more.

elevated I1t7Z Corrado’s smile was radiant. It lit up his entire face, especially his green eyes, with warmth and joy. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

elevated I1t7Z In lieu of flowers, donations made to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.
